Loud and broken windows

This apartment would be great, but there is a constant cacophony of noise wafting in from the outside, from literal marching bands to karaoke buses to electric guitars to people just yelling at the top of their lungs for no reason. I recognize management can't control the noise emitted from the outside but I'm pretty shocked at how little noise protection the windows provide. Like, it's literally none and it doesn't make a difference whether they are open or closed - they might as well be Japanese washi paper doors; I've recorded regular decibel levels of more than 80. I've lived in loud areas in New York and Washington before but the apartments always had some kind of soundproofing. I'm also surprised that the agent didn't warn this 52-year-old man with a professional 9-5 job that sleep might be difficult many nights with activity going on until 2 a.m. Inspecting the windows, I also found a gap and alerted the office. At first, they were receptive but have since ignored me for months.

For night owls and non-sleepers

Do you enjoy listening to marching bands... under your window late at night? Do you appreciate the sounds of poorly played electric guitars at 1 a.m.? Or maybe the crooning of random and bad - but very loud - singing throughout the day? If you prefer those things over reading, watching TV oand sleeping, then this is the place for you! Seriously, though, the poorly insulating windows let in a constant cacophony of noise throughout the day. I have recorded constant levels of 80+ decibels past midnight even with the window open. I have asked if anything can be done about it but it was clear that management had no interest in making the apartments acoustically liveable. Every neighbor I have talked to has said the same thing: "You can hear everything from the street" as if it's electrically amplified. It's a shame because they would be pretty nice apartments, if outdated.

City sounds can be improved

Better sound insulation in windows and a screen would be nice. Staff have mostly been very polite and professional, I have something that still needs to be resolved regarding a charge though.
