What renters are saying

Residents appreciate the spacious and well-built apartments at the property, which also feature basement storage and washer/dryer hookups. The property is well-maintained with timely snow removal and groundskeeping. Renters value the friendly and competent staff, including responsive management and maintenance teams. Despite the presence of college students, renters generally find the community atmosphere positive. Parking availability, although sometimes challenging during the school year, is manageable with spaces in the back.

I've lived here for 25 years, so I obviously like the place. Apartments are quite roomy and the build quality is good. The manager and maintenance folks are friendly and competent. Lot of college students here. So noise level can be a bit high but it hasn't been a problem. College students also tend to be slobs and the areas around the dumpsters can get pretty messy. But they are generally good neighbors. Parking can also be a slight problem during the school year though there has always been spaces in back. Each apartment shares a fair size basement with the apartment above or below and there are washer and dryer hookups. Plowing, shoveling and cross cutting is done in a timely manner. My only complaint is that rent has gone up considerably over the last few years. All-in-all, the apartments are very nice but the large rent increases over the past few years means they aren't the great value they once were.

The laundry machines unfortunately constantly break, while my self and other residents report it, it takes a significant amount of time before they are changed or something is done about it. I have lived on this property for 4 years and can confirm its on average 6 months almost. During our current COVID-19 it is hurtful that there is not any form of renters assistance being provided. Since many of the people that live in this complex are college students, the ability to pay rent becomes very difficult when school and most employments are closed, worst of all is with those that struggle to pay rent, a late fee is still charged to the account which then makes it even more difficult. It invokes fear to many residents in Amherst Manor that we'll be evicted during a crisis that none of us are able to control. I've made attempts to contact the property manager about this endeavor, and to this moment, I have not received a response.
