I'm going on my 4th year at Sharlands Terrace Apartments. The maintenance crew is the best in Reno. Shoveling snow from sidewalks, apartment entrances, and steps was taken care of promptly. Maintenance caring for the tenants is one of the reasons I'm calling this my forever home. Work orders: are completed promptly. If there will be a delay you can count on the maintenance supervisor to tell you why, i.e. ordering parts or an unexpected emergency at an apartment. The office staff is most helpful with tenants' concerns. The grounds are well-kept. Being in a gated community and the excellent tenant background checks even taking a walk around the grounds, I feel safe. The leash rule is kept so walking on the sidewalks is free of doggy dumps.

I lived here 2018-2022 and it was one of the most beautiful communities I have lived in, the most dogs I have seen in a community, luscious landscapes, clean and well maintained, professional staff - they were more than just courteous, made you feel like family. It was HOME. But all good things must come to an end. Everyone knows the name of the new manager as they did for the previous manager, but for completely different reasons. The previous manager, Shawna, was compassionate and community oriented. The new manager, Stephanie, is cold and distant, closes her blinds to avoid residents in the office, drives the property so she doesn't have to engage in small talk with residents, has stated she does not enjoy community events and wants no part in it. Rent has increased an average of $300+ month for renewals. The staff aren't as happy now while working, they look stressed, don't smile or wave nearly as much, its infectious like a bad virus.
