Butler Brothers Lofts is a unique four-story building located in the heart of Kansas City’s Historic Garment District. Built in 1909 and designated on the National Registry of Historic Places, this building originally served as a dry goods storage warehouse for The Butler Brothers Company, who developed the five and dime stores of Ben Franklin Stores and Federated Stores, in the early 1930"s.

Butler Brothers was recently renovated into 30 loft-style apartments. These lofts have soaring wood beams, colorful brick walls, and spectacular urban views. Unit finishes feature granite kitchen countertops, stainless steel appliances, restored hardwood and polished concrete flooring, contemporary bathrooms with washer and dryer.

A wonderful historic building that offers monitored amenities with a great location. Close to River market to walk, along with close enough being in power and light to do the same. The staff are Amazing maintenance is prompt.

Butler Brothers

I've lived here for one year and just renewed my lease. I've really enjoyed living here so far. There's some things I wish were different about my apartment, but overall it is one of the better apartments I've lived in. The staff is always very kind and responsive and maintenance is quick to respond to any issues. My biggest complaint is noise, you can definitely here your neighbors through the walls. The community itself is good, I like living in a smaller building with fewer neighbors. I do wish there were more amenities, like included parking and more secure package delivery (there was an issue with packages being stolen).

So cozy!

Love living here so much! The staff is so amazing and helpful. Maintenance comes very quickly for requests. There’s overnight security if ever needed. The area is SO cozy and feels very safe considering it’s downtown. The noise is really the only downfall I can think of. It can be pretty bad too which is pretty disappointing considering how much we were reassured when we viewed the unit. If it’s quiet you can literally hear your neighbors every word and movement. Buuuuut as long as there’s some sort of noise in your unit you don’t notice as much. It was the only reason we almost did not renew our lease but the unit is just so beautiful and perfect for us! It’s the smallest (and most expensive) apartment we have ever lived in but the space is SO well laid out and the HUGE windows and suuuuper tall ceilings make it feel very spacious! I would definitely recommend living here to anyone!
