2 years at freight yard

After almost 2 years at frieghtyard, the experience has been overall good. The staff is very kind and helpful, though the up keep of the basic grounds-work is lacking. Maintenance requests are answered quickly which is great. The neighbors/ other residents are very hit or miss in terms of how respectful they are of noise. Some are considerate, others are not. When they do not show consideration, there is not a great way to remedy this wirh the freightyard staff. No amenities are really available, but the small events and giveaways are a nice touch.

Thin Walls but Good Location

I can hear everything my upstairs neughbors and nextdoor neigbors do. Even though there are 4 layers of brick between the outside walls and the unit, the inside walls, including the ceiling for first floor units and floors for second floor units, are thin and with almost no insulation. They are aboit the width of a 2x4 honestly. Im not joking. I could probably drill into another unit. Thst being said, my unit is big and the bang for my buck is pretty good. I like that i havr mu own exterior door. I wish i had my own mailbox at my door though because the locker system and the open air alley a block down the building is annoying and many delivery drivers screw it up and just leave things in the open to get stolen. Gotta be vigilant soth your packages. The location is excellent though. You really cant beat that. Its quiet but in the city. Very close to the river and easy to access the river paths. If you have a dog, this is the place for you! Especially large dogs because its easy to get outside, even from 2nd floor and shared access units, the path to getting out the door is still comparatively short. I like that i can park my car in front of my unit, that’s not available for all units, but it is for most. Overall, despite some negatives, i do recommend it.

Great but thin walls

Apartments are great. But the interior walls are thin and you can hear quite a bit from your neighbors. Luckily most neighbors are pretty chill so its a non-issue.

Great Location

Nearly everything about Freightyard is great. Fabtastic location, great interiors and floorplans, good value. However, our only complaint is the amount of noise bleed from unit to unit. Even if someone next door is talking at a normal volume, you can hear everything they say. Other than that, no complaints.

Freightyard Review

I have lived on property for 5 years---pre renovation. I've seen a few changes, many improvements. Other than our patio space, and discounted membership, there are no on-site amenities. A community room would be appreciated. Sound-proofing the walls would also be appreciated. Freightyard staff is excellent, responsive, prompt and efficient.
