Sterling Pointe Apartments

I really wanted to like this place, but the move in process set the tone from day one. Once Megan got my money, communication completely stopped. I had no idea when I'd get my keys, and nobody told me the vacant apartments were left unlocked. I was even charged for time I wasn't living here. When I moved in, the apartment looked like the previous tenant had left 10 minutes earlier. The dishwasher was full of mold, the carpets were stained, the walls weren't painted, the screen door was ripped, a bedroom window was cracked, and the furnace/AC had no air filter with inches of dirt caked inside. The bathtub is chipped and peeling. They offered to refinish it after I moved in, but that would've meant removing my cats and leaving for half a day. That should've been done before move in. The blinds were installed too long, dragged across the floor, and stopped working within 30 minutes. My sliding door still doesn't latch or close completely, so hot air constantly leaks into the apartment. The neighbors below me smoke cigarettes inside, and the smell fills my apartment. Their blinds are yellow from cigarette smoke, which tells you how bad it is. I also had a leak in my bathroom ceiling. Maintenance came four days later and simply covered it with spackle instead of fixing it. I went 14 days without hot water, and recently another 3 days. Thankfully, that issue has finally been fixed. They've also shut our building's power off for four hours on a 90 degree day, just hours after DTE restored power following a five day outage. For months there was rarely anyone in the office. The pool lasted about three weeks before turning green. Scott the electrician and Mary Ann in the office have both been great, and I'm glad the previous maintenance crew is gone. Other than the hot water, almost nothing has actually been fixed. This is only eight months into my lease. I'm not writing this just to complain. I'm hoping someone who has the authority to make things right

We've had VERY LITTLE hot water since the start of February & it is now APRIL!! Very little response from the office and half the time they never send anyone out & our maintenance requests get marked completed (though no one stopped by or called) Joe from maintenance is a good guy, but there's not much they'll let him do to fix our maintenance issues. I like that he is honest though

It’s been ok, snow management is not good

Since the new management has taken over, I've noticed a better curb appeal to Sterling Pointe. And the cleanliness of the laundry room has greatly improved. I definitely love my home here at Sterling Pointe, so long as my rent does not increase.

The apartments are pretty quiet which is great. Laundry is on sight and is easy to figure out. The pool is very well maintained all summer long
