Originally developed by the Rockefeller family, the building evokes the era of the 1920's with impressive limestone colonnades, bronze trim and a gracious lobby detailed in marble and bronze. The Standard, once known as The Standard Oil Building and listed individually in the National Register of Historical Places, has been restored to capture the aura of its original splendor.

Southern Management has designed each residence to fit individual tastes, from studios, one and two-bedroom luxury apartment homes and lofts with towering ceilings, premium finishes and hardware, and incredible views of the Inner Harbor, downtown Baltimore and Chesapeake Bay

The Standard Review

The Standard is the best place I have lived in Baltimore. The noise transfer between apartments is minimal to zero, the location is perfect for my work, and the staff are incredibly kind. The apartment is spacious and has great natural lighting. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that they live in the Standard.

Good location for Peabody students

I've been living here for 2.5 years, and I really like the convenient location to Peabody Conservatory. I think the units are nice compared to some of what is around this area. The north side of the building isn't too noisy aside from the ambulances headed to Mercy Hospital, however the road noise can be bothersome on the south side due to the spirited nighttime drivers on the US-40 bridge. I haven't had many maintenance issues, but they are usually resolved quickly when they do occur. I have found it challenging to work with the leasing office for any related issues. There are often errors in the paperwork that causes delays. However I will say that the front desk service is great, and I'm always happy when Mary or Dwayne are there to assist with packages or any general questions! I use the parking garage since I keep a car here, and while the price seems a little high, I think the security is worth it when I hear about all the break-ins nearby. Overall, I would recommend this location.

LOVE IT HERE

I really enjoy living in downtown Baltimore. The beautiful vintage buildings, the pet friendly environments, delicious food and nightlife make it such a great place to live. Staff like Dwayne and Ms. Mary are so important for maintaining friendly and open environments for residents.
