Overall great but questionable workmanship
Location and parking are great. Everything from unit to common spaces of building are newly installed/renovated, which is ALWAYS nice! Main issue would be with workmanship of units, which has to do with management, not with crew. Clearly the timeline was short so workers had to build quickly, but aspects like the floor trim, door frames, closet door tracks, windows, and other parts literally do not line up. When closing closet doors, they don't line up flush with each other, so one side is always a little open. Dust and debris gets caught under floor trip because they aren't flush with the floorboards. Corners of showers/bathtubs collect moisture and mold due to poor caulking. Blue painters tape is visible in nooks and crannies where it should have been removed when renovation was done. Anytime there's a heavy downpour, water leaks in from windows, ceilings show watermarks, and the paint used on windowsills isn't waterproof (which normally shouldn't matter, but when windows are improperly sealed, this type of pre-consideration is advantageous). As a renter, these are all the responsibility of management to pay for adequate and appropriate materials and to allot enough time for construction crews to do their work well. Also, each unit is poorly insulated - tenants can hear each other through floor boards and walls without needing to raise one's voice beyond a reasonable conversational level. On the surface, newly renovated apartments with new appliances, in-unit laundry, # bathrooms per # bedrooms, granite countertops, "hardwood" floors, all at more than reasonable price is really great, especially when Chicago loves its Chicago-style 2-/3-flats and everything inside is several leases old. But the little details are important. And if nothing else were fixable at the budget set for these types of renos, then at least building a leakproof ceiling should be a priority... that becomes a long-term problem VERY quickly.

It's been very nice and the company is very welcoming as well as the maintenence workers are very knowledgeable and helpful only issues are parking which isn't your fault and the neighbors above us are loud from hearing them walk around all day and even hearing them having night time activities
