Fine

Downtown Santa Monica is a beautiful place to live, walk early enough before all the tourists and traffic starts though.

Should’ve left sooner

I lived in this apartment for over two years. My unit faced the street, which was on a bus route, so it was extremely noisy. It was also very common to hear homeless people shouting in the middle of the night. Most of all, one of the neighbors was incredibly loud throughout the night—it was unbearable. I reported the issue to the leasing office several times, but nothing improved. On top of that, the noise between floors was really bad. While the rent was relatively cheap for Santa Monica, the quality of life here was far below what you’d expect for that price.

4 out of 5 stars for SAMO Apartments

Overall, great place to live. Maintenance is reliable and quick. Apartment building is quiet, despite being so close to many things to go do. Some packages go missing and packages delivered by USPS seem to always not be delivered and/or get lost. A wishlist item for the building is to have electric vehicle charging spaces or the ability to use an outlet to charge EVs. I wouldn’t even mind paying for the electricity cost for my vehicle. In a near future, not having EV spaces is going to be a massive drawback for incoming renters and, in turn, a massive loss to the rental company. As for now, my only complaint is the rent has been risen past the point where the value of the apartment is worthwhile, especially considering the apartment is accessible housing with an income limit, yet the income limit hasn’t risen in proportion to the cost of rent.
