Have lived here 4 years and love the people, the location and how helpful all the employees are here. Magical place to live- feels suburban, while still being in SF!

The parking is a huge issue and police dont ticket those that park in our spot. Also we asked for privacy trees as our lawn is used by dogs and their walers and 6 inch shrubs were planted. Disappointed in the lack of working together. Also, market rate in sf is high because it is banking on rent stabilized units so we are paying way higher due to that since not in rent stabilized unit.

Great lifestyle, but the tradeoff is frequent blackouts, people taking your parking spot, and a lot of noise between units for what you pay.

The staff were great all along the way, but it took us FOREVER to get into what we thought was our dream home. Endless deferred maintenance really killed our joy after that :(

We love living in the Presidio! Great location, public transit, maintenance, and parking. It would be nice if a few more areas had safety lighting at night for those who use public transit and walk home. Also, it would be wonderful if the free live music series that used to happen at the Officers’ Club before COVID could be restarted.

Upper Portola homes come in two flavors with distinctly different looks and layouts. The three-bedroom units built in 1950 feature sought-after architectural details like decorative millwork, multi-paned windows, hardwood floors, and full basements for storage and laundry. The west-facing windows in the living and dining areas provide substantial natural light and overlook the grasslands around El Poln Spring. What unites the entire neighborhood is its close proximity to outdoor activities including Julius Kahn Playground, picnicking and birdwatching at El Poln Spring, and an organic community garden. The retail district of Pacific Heights is a short walk to the south, and Presidio Golf Course is a short but admittedly steep walk up the hill to the west.
