Fully enclosed sun porches hint at the charm to be found in the handsome, historic brick duplexes with matching brick garages of the Liggett Avenue neighborhood. Inside, living and sleeping spaces are located on separate floors and basements offer a place to stash bikes and keep laundry out of sight. Just a hop, skip and jump from the popular Julius Kahn Playground and the revitalized El Poln Spring area, this neighborhood is an ideal spot for those with active, outdoor lives. The nearby eucalyptus grove is home to artist Andy Goldsworthy's Wood Line sculpture, which flows through the trees in a serpentine line of thick branches laid end to end. Next to that is the park's oldest trail, the arrow-straight Lovers' Lane, named for its history of uniting soldiers with their sweethearts in town. Frequented these days by joggers, amblers, and lovers still, it makes a bee-line up to the Presidio Gate, where the shops and restaurants of Pacific Heights and Laurel Village await.

A dream

Living in the Presidio, on Liggett, is a dream come true. We go to sleep listening to owls and wake up with birds chirping. We have youngs kids and it just couldnt be more perfect.

presidio living is wonderful - with a few drawbacks

I've lived in the Presidio for 12 years and absolutely love it. There's no place like it. My only complaint is the leasing office, which is a bit of a nightmare to work with. Our rent has been raised 20% in the last four years, with the explanation that demand is high. The article in the Chron from the PSC owner says it well. But still - come live here if you can make it work, it's magical and the rest of the Presidio staff are wonderful. Very lucky to call it home.

Safer kitchen oven fan to outside.

Overtime it becomes clear that our unit is expensive and has antiquated aspects that could be improved to justify the cost. Probably the biggest one is no vent over the oven to the outside.

Best place ever in San Francisco (and the whole Bay)

We have lived in many neighbourhoods in San Francisco, and during COVID, the whole city collapsed and was inhabitabble. We decided to leave the whole city and live for some time in Malibu, and as normal life got back and it was time to head back to the Bay Area, we couldn't imagine living downtown, SOMA, or anywhere else up until we found Presidio Residences. You have a public park as your backyard, Eucalyptus trees and smell all over, you can walk everywhere and having Park Police instead of just city police is a huge advantage. A no-brainer; we love it, and it's completely unbeatable.

run down unit for top dollar

I have lived here quite a while and the unit is run down. I have called multiple times and when they come out the maintenance crews are fantastic!! However lots of issues persist with peeling paint, rusting radiators, toilet that blocks continuously, cracked tile, landscape not properly maintained, electric wires in the trees etc.. I had a 30 year old radiator that leaked and ruined my personal property. No response from the Trust regarding compensation. Children's toys strewn about making the area look like a junk yard in violation of the lease. I was told they don't want to discriminate against families. Of course not!!! I have a family, however, everyone needs to abide by the lease and keep their personal property out or communal areas. The location is excellent but just be prepared for RELENTLESS rent increases, and almost no support when there are real issues.
