Too noisy and elevator did not work for too long. From the Forth floor apartment I hear stomping every morning.

We've lived here for about three months, and we feel like we found the ideal place for us. The one-bed apartment we got is a really nice floor plan for a couple. Maybe it's just because I was on the East Coast so long but everything seems spacious, especially the lovely patio. The friendly staff are almost always in the front office during business hours, and there's that nice coffee machine. Our maintenance requests are dealt with very quickly. It's hard to imagine what a *more* convenient parking setup would be compared to what we have here. The pool and hot tub are really nice too, with plenty of space. Other residents I've met are really chill people for the most part. I would recommend living here to almost anyone. The only things that could be improved: (1) They don't enforce the rule in the lease against smoking right next to the building, so sometimes we're bothered by second-hand smoke. (2) The gym has no windows/doors and is sprayed with highly-scented air freshener that is a migraine trigger for some people; it makes it so I can't use the gym at all. However, I would sadly note that most other apartment buildings around here share drawback #2, and at least here the HALLWAYS are open to the outside.

Initially, I was very pleased with the property. It was safe, and the amenities were excellent. However, things changed when a noisy neighbor moved in above me. Despite management's efforts, they couldn't get the neighbor to be more considerate. Consequently, I decided to move out at the end of my lease. My biggest issue and disappointment stem from the predatory practices regarding the return of my deposit. I placed a $650 deposit and was assured before signing the lease and before moving out that I would get some of it back. However, 26 days after returning the apartment keys, I received a final statement. One-third of the deposit was used to pay for utilities provided by Areum (water, trash, etc.), and two-thirds went to cleaning charges. Despite my thorough cleaning of the apartment, I was still charged $200 for general cleaning. The remaining $220 was used for cleaning a 12'x13' carpeted room. During the final inspection, I was told how clean the apartment was, and the inspector mentioned that regardless of cleanliness, they still have a crew come in, but it would incur the lowest cleaning charges. I found the final costs to be excessive. These cleaning charges are pass-through charges from their vendors, meaning Greystar doesn't feel the financial impact. When I reached out to them for an explanation, I received no response. Lastly, the place is somewhat noisy due to its proximity to a highway, train track, and a research facility with a loud exhaust vent.
