Excessive noise

Haven’t even been here a year and already have to move out because of extremely loud upstairs neighbors, don’t know about you but that’s not very “luxurious”. It’s so embarrassing having guest over and all you can hear is loud footsteps upstairs. One time I even thought the roof was gonna come down because the sounds were so extreme. Literally sounds like shrek is up there all day making dance TikTok’s. And don’t even try asking for a transfer unit because The Monterey only allows that if it’s an “upgrade” at their monetary convenience. Even after I informed them that I suffer from learning disabilities and need silence 80% of the time, they didn’t care. I’m already paying over $2800 for a one bedroom which is insane on its own & I didn’t mind because I was led to believe I would have a “luxurious” living experience. the only unit on the third floor they offered me was $3395. So in other words: they could give two shits about your comfortability if they’re not gonna squeeze a couple hundred more dollars out of you (I’ve had to leave my apartment once or twice because the noise is unbearable) Also, the ENTIRE place smells like marijuana at all hours of the day. 6am morning walk? Instead of a fresh breath of morning crisp air you get slapped in the face with the smell of weed. Super luxurious. Also never seen the “doggie spa” or the “bike shop” open. The pool has never been heated like they claimed at the start. Also if something within the amenities breaks they won’t fix it for weeks, maybe months.

LOUD

Cons: --Excessive/Unbearable noise. -Couldn't open my windows EVER because there are cigarette and weed smokers everywhere (smell would fill the entire apartment) -The walk paths are unkept and smell like dog pee - No parking for guests -1 bedroom apartments only come with 1 assigned parking spot -Unit was unfinished when we moved in (missing two doors) -Poor paint job in "brand new" units -screw holes covered up with little stickers all over the kitchen -the walls stain easily - monthly trash, gas and billing fees (on top of rent and your other utilities) - Almost $100 monthly if you want an extra carport and over $100 monthly for a garage. Might be even more now, idk. -The office staff rarely answers the phone -When you move out, they will charge you a cleaning fee, carpet shampoo fee, and painting fee, all each well over $100, so really never expect much of your deposit back.
