The hallways are very narrow. The units have just a regular size door, so you can’t store furniture. The walls are made out of tin and screws that will catch your belongings as well. Owners/management won’t return calls or emails regarding issues. ... Read more

I like Climate Controlled Self Storage. I was hesitant at first because I had used other company's storage units in the past which were basically a garage-style thing. No heat, no cooling, and the one I rented before leaked water! Yuck. Climate Controlled Self Storage is not like most of the other storage units. Think of a warehouse which has been subdivided inside into cubicles and you will get an idea of how this storage unit facility is set up. This place has indoor storage units which really are a nice design. There are two levels with a freight elevator (no passengers allowed) which connects the two levels as well as a stairway. The hallways are wide and easy to move things through. The storage unit doors are like a steel entry door for a building. Doorways to the storage units are wide, I think at least one meter wide (36 inches), and hinged on the sides so they open into the hallway. This gives you more storage space inside because you do not need to subtract for the swing of the door. Security is double based. There is an exterior door, which one must have the proper code to unlock, to enter the builing. Then each storage unit has another lock, a key lock, on the door to that specific unit. The temperature always seems a constant, I would guess about 70 degrees, and air flow works because the units in the upper levels have an open ceiling which allows circulation. Costs are reasonable and only slightly higher than storage units which are exposed to extremes of heat and freezing and subject to water leakage. The staff is helpful. I like this concept and the way they treated me. ... Read more

Sioux Falls storage unites are the worst (just like rental apartments) and this state is the fraud capital of America so renting from anyone here is scary, but this is the best one out of all the three I have had. It is clean, nice entrance, and my things feel safe here. Thank for refunding me the extra month. Much better than Uhaul. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at MC2 Secure Storage - 1501 North Cleveland Avenue include the following amenities: Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
