They returned my call, found the right size at a decent price. Would have liked a map or better discription as the one I rented has a narrow drive and lighting is not as promised. But like the paying online option and it was ready with a hassle. ... Read more

Safe, secure but not really PROFESSIONAL! Every time a call is made all I get is attitude and snarky ness from the woman answering the phone, half the time she doesn’t even seem like she knows what she’s talking about.” But wants to be so correct and throw numbers and late fees etc and again being SNARKY . People are late and life happens ESPECIALLY AROUND THE HOLIDAYS, but calling and explaining the situation to only made to feel less than, and be told late fees and etc apply costing up to 200$ for a 100 storage unit is crazy. ALSO “AGAIN NOT PROFESSIONAL” how are you and your company making mistakes with no apology but blaming the people for them and still expecting a payment ... Read more

Storage City is an awesome facility and I highly recommend them. Security in place, super clean, equipment all works and the bays are spacious. Now that I have my 35ft Class A in storage here, I am completely spoiled and will not store it anywhere else. Five star operation for sure! ... Read more

This is the second time I’ve needed a storage unit for a period of time. I was referred to the good people at Storage City on Omaha Street in Rapid City my first move. They were super kind and helpful, showing me the units. This facility is an indoor, climate controlled facility and very secure which was very helpful! More importantly, the facility is very clean and orderly. It smells fresh and is brightly lit and inviting! The couple who run this business are simply kind people who are in business to provide a service and they do their jobs so very well! I absolutely recommend Storage City! Their prices are more than fair and the service and facilities are unbeatable! 5 stars from me! Thank you both so much for making my move so much smoother! Sincerely, Michael Weber Rapid City, SD ... I recently moved to the area and needed a place to store all of my belongings until I closed on my home. I rented two 10 x 30 non-climate controlled units and one 10 x 30 climate controlled unit for several months. All of my interactions with the staff were great. They were considerate and courteous. They answered all of my questions. The units were clean and easily accessible, even by the 18-wheelers delivering our belongings. If I need a storage unit in Rapid City, Storage City is the only place I would consider. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage City Self Storage - 420 Creek Drive include the following amenities: Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 240 to 480 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage City Self Storage - 420 Creek Drive start from $45 and can go up to $63 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
