Read some helpful reviews of City Center Self Storage at 20 South 4th Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I have used City Center Self Storage for several years. It is an excellent storage facility. All possessions, including furniture, critical documents, personal papers, musical instruments, valuables, clothing, delicate items, will be completely secure and renter-accessible only. The building and lockers are clean, dry, and temperature controlled. Nick Lackner is professional and friendly and very attentive to both City Center business details and to City Center clients. Also, the rental fees are reasonable and affordable. Five stars! ... Read more

I had a great experience with City Center Self Storage. Very friendly and helpful managers who go the extra mile when you need it. This is something rarely seen when renting/maintaining a storage unit from a company. It was clean and I feel safe storing my things there this summer. ... Read more

I recently moved away from Pittsburgh in June 2013 and needed a place to store my belongings indefinitely until my next move. After spending a lot of time reading sub-par reviews of other self storage companies in Pittsburgh, I opted to go with the newer, but impressive-looking and seemingly well-managed City Center. I have been absolutely ELATED with my decision and with the high quality, personable, and comprehensive services I have received thus far. The staff are both friendly and incredibly helpful, often extending themselves beyond the most basic services to ensure customer satisfaction. I rest assured knowing that my prized possessions are well taken care of, even though I am 2000 miles away. ... Read more

Recently I needed to work on a project with a colleague, and both of us live about three hours away from Pittsburgh in opposite directions. Via networking with friends in the Pittsburgh area, I was informed that City Center Self Storage has a conference room available for people to use - and for free! Nick was a great host, and the meeting room served us perfectly. They even provided a coffee machine, drinks and snacks. Nick provided us recommendations on where to eat lunch. Plus, they provided easy-access parking which is a premium in that section of the city. My colleague and I are most appreciative of this opportunity and will likely meet here again as our project continues. I highly recommend City Center Self Storage. ... Read more

Nick and the team that makes up City Center Self Storage are All-Stars. I relocated from North Carolina and got shafted by my moving company when the decided to drop off my whole life, a week early. Nick got me set up with a climate controlled unit and helped me unload some of my stuff. After my apartment became available City Center helped me with my U-haul rental. Now that I've gotten squared away in my new place, I was able to shift into a different unit. And while my unit changed Nick and his level of service has remained the same. ... Read more

I love City Center Self Storage! I would recommend it to everyone! Great Location- its minutes from downtown! So convenient! The staff at City Center was amazing. I think that their customer service really sets them apart from other storage facilities. Upon showing interest in the unit the staff met me promptly and gave me a tour of the entire facility. They then helped me decide on the best, most cost efficient unit for my storage needs. They were also there to meet me when I moved in. The facility is also very safe; it was nice to see that they have security cameras! As an added bonus, City Center provides free Wi-Fi; you can even buy tape and other supplies right there on the spot. It’s also 100% climate controlled! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at City Center Self Storage - 20 South 4th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 22 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by City Center Self Storage - 20 South 4th Street start from $55 and can go up to $296 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
