Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 512 Castle Shannon Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Just finished a job at Public Storage on Castle Shannon Boulevard in Southside Pittsburgh and had to give a shoutout to the manager. Always professional, helpful, and making sure everything runs smoothly. The unit setup is great too because you can drive your truck right in, keeping your items safe from the weather. Highly recommend this location! ... Read more

After having a less than pleasant experience with customer service, I had called my location directly to try to get some more help. Tanya called me back and she was AMAZING! She listened and really understood where I was upset and frustrated. She then went above and beyond to help me. We already love the location of this storage facility and the cleanliness but knowing that they care about their customers also makes it that much better! ... Read more

Would rather give zero stars. Price gouging at its finest! From $129 to $190 to now $270 for the same storage unit (mind you I first got this unit Nov 2024, it’s now only August 2025) that’s an absurd increase and I can’t with their greed. Would rather move my items elsewhere! ... Read more

So far a great experience. Today we got a call from Tanya (sp?) who said our unit wasn’t locked. We came by and she promptly helped figure out what I was doing wrong to make sure our stuff was safe. Super clean, easy to access. Thank you! ... Read more

This place is the worst! We've made multiple appointments and tried to get somebody in the office at least five times. Every time we come here to speak with someone in the office, there's no one here. The prices are exorbitant, they double and triple within the year of signing a contract. We're waiting for an appointment right now and no one is here. The garage door is wide open, anyone can come in with lock cutters and empty out personal storage lockers. This place has no security, no one on duty, no one shows up when they're supposed to. It's horrible! ... Read more

I rented a unit here and was very pleased with it. The unit itself was immaculately clean, temperature controlled, and right as you drive into the building. Important to note that the “first floor” will be listed as fourth floor. Don’t be confused, it’s actually ground level based on how the building is built into the hill, from what I understand. The most important thing to me what easy access as I was in and out of the unit over a seven month period. It was also easy to vacate the unit considering I didn’t have to use an elevator. Highly recommend this facility. ... Read more

Another disappointing situation with Public Storage. It’s great that they have made things temp controlled and secure, but I’m so tired of them getting you into a unit. and raising it $100+ over the year. I have been a customer at this facility when it first opened, and was Beyond Storage. Many, many issues with security and temp control, after Public Storage took over, but now I am faced with $100 increase for the year on my one unit, and the timing is perfect, as I just lost a job. Now, I’m going to be put in the stressful situation of moving out to a better storage facility that doesn’t raise the rent 4X per year. As a life long resident of Mt. Lebanon, I will be sure to make them all aware of what they are getting in to when they start that low rate. I did, however, appreciate them helping me when there was absolutely NO SECURITY IN THE BUILDING, and ABSOLUTELY NO TEMP CONTROL. Thank you very much for helping me get compensation for your lack of providing the major standards that we were paying for. Kyle and Jim, you two are awesome, too!!?? AND NOW, we have another Jim, who has already shown his professionalism and awesomeness!???? ... Read more

If you are looking for a storage unit this is a great place. Affordable prices, weather proofing storage, and the customer service is exceptional. Jim is awesome! Handled my move out wonderfully and was an excellent help with any of my questions or needs. I definitely recommend getting a unit here, if I ever need a storage unit again I'll come back here for sure!! ... Read more

If you need some storage and even at the last-minute this place is a great option. I’m working for a company and needed last minute storage; I’m talking same day ordeal. The phone call took 15 minutes or maybe even less. I researched the closest facility and reached out. Super simple, not the longest wait and the woman on the phone was great with communication and explanation. Everything was squared away very quickly, and I was sent all the information on how to get started and when. The directions were simple, and I had everything done in no time at all. I was in and out. If you need some space, I’m sure they can find a good fit for you for a relatively good price. I believe I’ve gotten one of their smallest storage units, wonderful my needs and a great fix. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 512 Castle Shannon Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 512 Castle Shannon Blvd start from $62 and can go up to $414 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
