This is the second storage unit I have ever owned, the place was clean and quiet. Gigi was amazing and SO helpful. She took us all the way up and showed us how to get to our unit and how to put in our code to get in the door. I would highly recommend!! ... Read more

I had a positive experience dealing with Prime Storage. I loved their website with the prices detailed along with specials. The people I talked to on the phone were friendly and answered all my questions. My favorite was Levi, at the facility. He is the best. He gave us a tour and said he would help my movers find my unit. It is a very clean and comfortable facility. I couldn’t be happier! ... Read more

Nice complex. Upon our move out the gate was broken where you pull in so that drive thru access was not accessible which made move out much more difficult. Same for sliding door that left straight to parking lot. It wouldn’t open from interior which added to move out difficulty. There was also half of the parking lot taken up by the neighbors large truck where gravel was being brought in so we had to park down the street by the hotel. With that being said, we requested a discount due to these difficulties since we paid a premium for the drive thru access. The complex denied our request for a partial discount on our last months rent. For that reason, lack of customer service and customer retention, I don’t know if I would recommend this facility. That is why I’m letting folks know. It is also near impossible to make the turn out of the drive thru with a large U-Haul. (When we moved in). So take note of that. You have to back out of the drive thru instead. Sounds like someone hit the gate trying to leave that way and that’s why the gate was down for 2 weeks during our tenancy. ... Read more

I was previously asked to write a review of this facility from the manager, before even accessing my unit. I imagine most of the higher reviews are from customers with the same experience. The customer service is an abomination. I called and left 3 messages asking the manager to call me about switching my brand new reservation to a bigger unit. When no one returned my call, I showed up to the facility and there was a sign on the door that no one was in and would be back at 2:30 and when I returned at that time, the sign was switched to 3. When the manager finally came to the door and was able to assist, he told me he was unable to switch the unit or refund the previous fees and I would need to book it myself online to get the price I saw online, and pay fees again. He showed us how to access the elevators and went back to the office. On Sunday I went with a truckload of things to the storage facility and went to my unit. There was a blue tag on my unit door that would NOT pull off. We contacted the corporate number and the support agent told me that absolutely nothing could be done for me, would not give out any information for a supervisor or district manager, and said that absolutely no refunds would be provided. We were able to get the unit cancelled, but the district manager refuses to return any phone calls. ... Read more

I utilized Prime Storage from June 2023-April 2024 due to an out of state move and initial downsizing while I got settled. Pros: The people that work here are very kind and easy to work with. The facility itself is nice and when I was initially moving my personal belongings into my unit, I felt very safe even as a woman that would sometimes drop things off at weird hours. The initial move in experience was pleasant with elevators and lots of available carts. Cons: I rented a mid-sized unit for $41/month which I didn’t think was too bad for a temp controlled and secure facility. It quickly raised to $56/month and then at the end they were going to start charging me $72/month. It is not worth this in the slightest. My biggest problem is that my unit was definitely broken into at some point during the 10 months I utilized Prime Storage. As previously stated, I was out of state so had not been in the unit since July 2nd, 2023. When I arrived in April to vacate my unit, the “ceiling” (which is chicken wire) was caved in/cut and things had obviously been shuffled/moved around within the unit (see picture). There were also some small personal items missing like a vacuum and kitchen appliances. Luckily, these are all replaceable. I raised this issue to Prime Storage and pointed out where the chicken wire was obviously destroyed. They told me they would “review the camera footage and get back to me,” but I never heard from them again. This isn’t the end of the world for me, but the biggest draw of this place is how “secure” it supposedly is and it is definitely not worth the price and the constant price increases. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Prime Storage - 8316 East 102nd Street start from $41 and can go up to $408 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
