The office manager is super nice! He definitely made me feel welcomed and was very informative about the place! The pricing is pretty cheap as well! For example: a five by ten here is about $25. If you go anywhere else, it can range from $79-$90. That is, in the research I have done of nearby storage places. I don't plan to be here long, as my plans don't require it. If I should ever need to store anything again, or if a friend asks for recommendations, it will definitely be here! ... Read more

This is most far the worst storage facility I ever had to deal with. The manager just so happens to live here is very rude. His signs shows, clear as day hours of operation and access gate times 7am-9pm. I arrived at 7am to store my vehicle. I waited til after 7:10am to knock on the door. He swarms outside and rudely says to me that he doesn't open up the gate until 9am. I say that your sign says differently but he interjects and tells me I just woke up his family and he will not open up and proceeds to slam the door in my face. Please whomever read this review DO NOT use his services unless you want to step on dog mess as you get out your car, call and he never picks up and be rudely talk to. Pics will be up soon. ... Well interesting interaction with the manager today here. Seemed awfully defensive for being asked normal questions anyone would ask when their storage unit has been robbed and they’d been given two different story’s on the phone before they could come speak to someone in person . Ours was conveniently in a “blind spot” of course. The manager had his big white German Shepard barking in my ear in the office, which also reeks of cigarettes so better hope none of their other clients are allergic to that, then refused to give me the managers number until I pressed him finally. He said he didn’t know who his manager was at first or the owner. The manager also had told my friends, who had to run by as we were out of town, they had footage and had made a police report but then told me they had no footage and he couldn’t remember what officer called him but he didn’t make a report they called him. So a few random officer called him and he didn’t get a name or have any clue what unit they were calling on??????? very odd. Also that the bowling alley is in charge of that alley , so an alley they don’t own they supposedly have cameras on for the storage unit , boy things started getting real shady throughout this entire interaction . Then him speeding around the corner and slamming on his brakes screeching them because he was upset he was asked questions while attempting to mean mug my husband the entire time. Demanding loudly we come back to the office when we we’re done . I wasn’t aware a manager of a place I pay for every single month was allowed to tell me what to do and how to do it but he tried and failed on that. Also , units over on the other side seemed to have been broken in to as well so are all the units in a blind spot? Seems they could pull footage from that side . I noticed on another review the owner mentions these managers have been there a long time which is not true either. This is the third manager I’ve encountered in the 3 years I’ve had my unit so let’s not go there. I will say the former two were always nice and helpful and I’ve not had an issue before now , but this is enough for me to consider this may be an ongoing issue with this storage facility . Also seems a real liability to have multiple dogs on site that bark and growl at clients that walk through the PUBLIC OFFICE DOOR to do business! Being held back by a little baby gate. Just to note I love all dogs and all Dog breeds ,but as a business owner myself would never allow that in a million years. Finally the “repair” that was done to secure my unit before we came to secure it was poorly done at best. ... Read more

I've been a customer with American Self Storage for almost two years and my experience has been great. No hassles, the application process was too easy. I've never had any problems with the storage unit or management. The manager has always been helpful and kind. While the facility is a little older, the actual unit is clean and has enough room for what I need. Monthly cost is affordable. The only drawback is the tight driving space between the rows of units. I've been very fortunate to make my trips there when there was no one else on the same row of units. The location is very convenient for me. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at American Self Storage - 510 24th Avenue NW include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by American Self Storage - 510 24th Avenue NW start from $35 and can go up to $325 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
