I have been a customer for several years. While the company is willing to address maintenance issues with their property, they do not take responsibility for damage to a tenant's property. A key concern is the entrance gate, which lacks proper safety sensors. The gate closed on my truck, causing significant damage to the side panel. I immediately contacted their customer service team, who assigned my case to a risk management agent named Sedgwick. The agent requested damage estimates but has since become unreachable, failing to respond to my emails and phone calls. When I followed up with the Public Storage team, I was told they could not assist me further. This experience highlights their unwillingness to take responsibility for issues caused by their faulty equipment. ... Read more

I went inside and started the process of renting a storage space through the kiosk and was assisted by someone remotely (nice person). I chose the space I needed and it was 70 dollars a month which was perfect. Went through scanning my ID and filling out all my information. Then you are prompted to enroll in an insurance policy for an extra $20 a month. I didn’t need insurance and tried to decline it, but I was informed by the representative that you cannot decline it so I just cancelled everything and left. ... Read more

I want to give zero stars. I rent storage units often, and this was clearly the worst one to date. First the locker was not cleaned, as there were dead bugs, a golf ball, roach packet and the floor was so dirty one would think concrete had just been cut. They didn't even do a simple sweep. Now I have to clean everything I put into that locker. Second, I booked online for a specific address and was confirmed at that address. But upon arrival I was told my locker was at a different location. I picked my original spot for a reason, but they moved my reservation to suit their needs, not mine and didn't bother to inform me. Third, online it said 1st month $1. They did not honor that price even when mentioned 3 times. They said the website does not show that, even though I am still looking at it now as I write this review. They blatantly lie to their customers. Fourth, I was charged for a lock but never given one. A week later they refunded that charge after I complained twice. Fifth, because of the issues with Public Storage I found another company to get a locker from. I cancelled my locker with Public Storage not even 2 weeks after moving in. But just like the no $1 for first month, I received no partial refund for my locker. Even though I had to pay a service fee on top of rent, just to rent the unit. Sixth, customer service is barely a 0 on a scale to 10. Even Public Storage dotcom has no contact info, just a blank page so you cant bother them with a complaint. As I said, I rent lockers often, but never again will Public Storage get 1 penny from me. I've had other issues with other Public Storage units but no more. They are a scam of a company and will bleed you of your $ however they can. My new unit is awesome, went flawlessly and moved in for the 1st month free. I HIGHLY recommend for you to look for any storage locker company besides Public Storage. Unless you want to gamble your $, belongings and sanity. ... Read more

The move in was easy, but the entry gate wasn’t working so we had to use the exit gate. My unit’s door won’t stay up, but they are going to fix that. They are very responsive if you leave a message or talk to the live agent at the kiosk inside. They are also WAY cheaper!! I was paying 4 times the amount at another Public Storage location and moved here. So far, very happy! ... Read more

Unable to ever get a hold of anyone. Not even the main customer service branch. I just need assistance getting the lock off due to losing the keys. I have my account information and proof of identity. Locksmiths are of course hesitant to simply unlock a storage (completely understandable). Even the kiosk person is no help. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 905 SE 19th Street start from $29 and can go up to $203 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
