Be careful, there is a ton of theft and shadiness going on! This place is currently under investigation. I've personallly been approached by BA police asking about the owner and any suspicions I may have. Of course the owner doesn't return phone calls regarding this and plays dumb in person. Then finds a creative way to not renew my lease after my questioning. Sounds very suspicious to me! ... Read more

I was referred to this storage unit because my job also uses this storage facility. I had paid for a months rent and had a unit locked with my pad lock. The storage facility called me asking if I had moved out because my lock was missing. Funny, this was about a week before the end of the month, the lady told me that another renter had noticed my lock was off. I do not believe that for one second. I believe the storage unit took my lock off to see if the unit was empty and if they could use it in steal my things or steal my deposit. It’s sad that you cannot even trust a storage facility to keep your things safe. In my opinion, I believe they have done this to a few customers that probably wouldn’t even think to write anything about it. Do not trust this storage facility. ... Read more

It is very well lit and I feel like my belongings are secure here. The staff seems nice from the little bit I’ve dealt with them. My big problem and why I don’t recommend them is MICE or RATS. After 2 weeks of having things in my storage unit I went to get something and saw droppings all over everything!!! I bought a bag of poison and for about a month it improved. I went today to get something out and again everything is covered in mice or rat droppings. I mean covered. The whole unit smells terrible like urine from the pests. I spoke with someone and they said that they do no pest control. So I killed some mice once and now I need to do it monthly. They need overall pest control. One person can’t control the place’s pest problem. I’ve had lots of storage units and of course you expect a little but I’ve never seen anything like what has happened here. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Select Self Storage - 2604 West Kenosha Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
