Unbelievable. So rented three units in the building. On line price showed $146 for two of the units. Have not been in the building 30 days got first bill and it shows $230 a month rent. Called to say your website says rate was $146. Was informed in the paperwork I signed it says they can raise the rent anytime. Was further informed that the rent would go to $295 per unit Nov 30th. so going from $146 to $295................ I would suggest they have someone on the website correct the on line pricing. As I couldn't get a human on the line and there was never a person at the facility I thought perhaps that was how they kept their prices lower. Turns out they don't they simply inform you after your stuff is in that you signed a contract allowing them to raise the rent every 30 days. Hymie who I just talked to on the phone tried to help but crazy to me that this is the way the corporate office chooses to do business. Be warned up front. ... Read more

I have tried for 2 days to get into my storage unit and the elevator does not work! Have tried and tried to call all the StoreIt offices here in Wilmington NC and cannot get an answer! We are a nonprofit and need items in our unit desperately! Have never posted a bad review ever but this company has been a nightmare to try to get anyone to answer our calls and get into our storage unit! Even had staff drive to every StoreIt in Wilmington, NC and absolutely no office staff anywhere! There are no emergency numbers listed anywhere for this company! ... Read more

I have been renting a unit from Go Store it for many years. I was set up on auto pay, but I didn’t notice the payment come out of my account. I called and Ranjith was so helpful getting my account squared away. Also, he was very kind and understanding with a personal situation that affected my account. I am grateful that Ranjith answered the phone today because now my problem is resolved. Thank you! ... Read more

I agree 100% with Frank Kearney's review from the week of 2/24/25. This company shamelessly practices a bait-and-switch ploy. They lure you in with very competitive rates, and well-maintained units. Then, somewhere in the range of 1-3 months after the start of your lease, they raise your rent substantially (by 30% or more). They will continue to pummel you with rent increases and creatively imagined fees until you can no longer afford your unit, or you are paying more than double what you were when you first moved in. Franks's observation that customer service has dramatically changed was also correct. When I first moved into my units, I worked with local agents who were helpful and competent, and when I called the office, a local employee always answered. As of 2025, no matter what number you call, you are always routed to somewhere in India, speaking to someone with a thick accent, who is neither helpful nor competent. It doesn't matter what number you dial-- all roads lead to India (trust me, I've tried). I will say that their buildings are clean and well-maintained. But you are going to pay a premium for this service. And forget being able to call a local office for help-- the country of India is the only help you'll be getting. Avoid this company. ... Read more

WARNING!!! Their business plan calls for a rent increase 90 days after you move in. Count on it! When I first contacted these people I spoke with very pleasant agents who were helpful in every way. I thought I was set for years. Here is the email I got one (1) day after my 90 days was up: ---We are sending this notice to inform you that your rental rate on unit B154 is increasing from $168.00 to $219.00 (%30!!!). This letter serves as your thirty (30) day notice for the rate change. Your rent payment due on 2/18/2025 will reflect the new rate. Your business is important to us. Due to operational costs associated with providing you the best possible self-storage experience, we are instituting the minimum rate increase needed to meet the financial demands of our storage facility. We are excited to utilize this opportunity to make further improvements to the property and to your overall experience with us. We appreciate you and your business, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with you.......... What a crock! This was a 30% increase, and when I called to discuss the matter, no longer did I get pleasant agents, I got people with very thick accents, who couldn't have cared less about me or my rate. When I asked about moving to a smaller unit, I was quoted the same price I was now paying - and I feel certain that rate would go up also. And, added bonus, they wouldn't answer the customer service line (they have your caller ID), and they only way I could get a human was to use another phone and call as if I wanted to rent a unit; just horrible. I think a small rate increase 5% - 8% is acceptable - but 30% - to make further improvements to the property - B.S. Why am I supposed to fund your Capital improvements? And there aren't any. I would never again deal with these very disreputable people. They know most people don't want to move again (I certainly didn't - I was set to be there for years) - and they count on most people just accepting the rate and eating it. - Not me - and that leads to the silver lining..... I found a locally owned storage facility - Carolina Storage - just down the road at 6789 Market Street. When I inquired at the desk about who owned the facility, the gentleman said. "I do, with my partners". When I explained I was moving from GoStoreIt, he interrupted and said, "they jacked the rent, didn't they?" Apparently it's a thing. And best of all, at Carolina Storage, I was quoted a very favorable rate, and I will save a lot of money over each year. I was assured there wouldn't be any rent changes in the next year and probably longer - they just don't jack prices on their customers. Oh, and also, they had bathroom facilities, and a small refrigerator with water for their customers. I expect to be there a long time. As for GoStoreIt - you have been WARNED! Also, I am deeply suspicious of all those syrupy reviews about how nice everyone is and how they love being there - probably didn't get their rent increase letter yet - assuming they are even real people SMH! ... My experience with this new management has been awesome. They have been extremely helpful and understanding when circumstances in my life had gotten seriously complicated. My advice to anyone who is interested in renting a unit or is currently renting a unit, honestly and fully communicate whatever issues that arise in your life that may prevent you from honoring your contract with them and they will work with you. Thanks to Mr. Logan, Ms. Laurie & Ms. Mary going the extra mile to assist me with my situation because I expressed everything that was happening honestly, all things worked out for me in the end. Such a blessing that I was not expecting to receive. Thanks again to the staff at Go Store It. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Go Store It - 7135 Market Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Go Store It - 7135 Market Street start from $17 and can go up to $214 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
