Read some helpful reviews of StorageMax at 820 South Main Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

We just booked a storage unit at the S Main St location in Wake Forest. The staff (I mostly talked with Andy, but briefly with Jonathan) was SO HELPFUL in so many ways. I had to call several times, and they were kind and patient each time, answering my questions + providing prices and info (this is great, but it stood out even more because several other facilities didn't always have someone answering the phone). My Mom took care of the paperwork in the office, and they even gave me a follow-up call to let me know it was taken care of. They went the extra mile a number of times and were so professional! The prices were comparable to surrounding places, but due to a promo, were even better -- such a needed blessing. I hope Andy and Jonathan know what a gift they were! ... Read more

Very friendly staff. It was easy to rent a unit. The front of my unit does get wet when it rains , so be sure to check if there are items close to door. Security code to enter, Security cameras, they do walk thru checks, your own lock on unit. Lots of security. ... Read more

The office for this facility is at the corner of W Main St and Ligon Mill Rd. I needed a small unit and the woman in the office, Rachel, was very helpful. The rental process was very simple and affordable. I will say that when I looked on the website, I didn’t see that there was a mandatory insurance fee. They have the insurance available at $9/mo. Also, it showed that the rental fee for a 5x5 unit was $25. That was the introductory rate for 2 months. Not the perpetual fee. The location is very convenient and easy to get to. ... Read more

We rented a unit here for over 2 years and paid our monthly rent on time. When we no longer needed the storage unit I called to discuss my 2 week notice, as it was vaguely instructed on their website, and find out if my bill would be pro-rated for the partial month. I spoke with "the manager" and she was extremely rude! Not only rude, but didn't bother to mention to me That a lock had been put on our storage unit because our payment was a few days late (again because I thought it would have been a pro rated amount). I went online and paid the bill while I was on the phone with her after she made very clear to me that it was a flat monthly fee no matter what. When we got to our unit to move the following day we were locked out of it and had to wait until the evening for an on call gentleman could come out and unlock it. I was so disappointed and frustrated that the manager was so rude and not helpful. I will never do business or recommend business to the establishment again because of this. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at StorageMax - 820 South Main Street include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by StorageMax - 820 South Main Street start from $19 and can go up to $272 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
