Rented a unit for short term vehicle storage. Super friendly and accommodating. Easy to work with. Made recommendations for discounted costs and were gracious when I neglected to cancel the unit after we took the vehicle out of storage early into the term. ... Read more

This storage company is amazing! The staff are super friendly and always quick to respond. I love that I could always access our storage whenever we needed to, and that we could call and get space rented immediately. We stored with them for several years. All of our items were clean, no bugs, no water damage, very safe and secure. I highly recommend them. ... Read more

Just horrible they lock your unit on the second of the month if you don’t pay in full on the first of the month and then if you don’t pay by noon, they won’t take the lock off until the next business day do good luck trying to move on a Saturday! They false advertise your first month is $35 ! no it’s not! only the amount of time left the month you first move stuff in until the first of the following month is $35! Then they changed it so you can’t access your unit 24 hours a day so if you work and can’t access it until after 7 PM you are just out of luck! Check other places. This place is not worth the headache. Oh, and they don’t do pro-rate payments when you move out at the beginning of the month you still have to pay for the whole month. So me trying to move out on the sixth of the month I still have to pay for the entire $340 for the month! Never again! ... Read more

I'd like to give this place 5 stars because my things were stored here safely for about 5 months and most of the people I talked to were very nice. However, the gate issues prevent me from giving that rating. I couldn't get into the storage yard way more times then I had access because the codes they gave me wouldn't work. There isn't any staff on duty at the location, so you must rely on phone calls. The very first time this happened to me, they didn't answer the phone. I had my car loaded down and needed to unload, but I had to sit outside the gate for about 30 mins before I was finally able to get in touch with someone to let me in. The times after that when it happened, I was usually able to get in touch with someone within the first 5 minutes. But, the fact that I had to call them almost every time I wanted to gain entry to my unit was very annoying and time consuming. I think their hands off approach (meaning nobody actually works AT this location), is very detrimental in situations like this. One time I called to get into the yard and the lady tried to blame me saying I wouldn't give them my social security number. (They used the last 4 of your SSN as your access code at the time.) I politely told her that it wasn't true and she rechecked her paperwork to find I was correct and Had given that info. She then fixed it so I could gain entry. Another issue is that there isn't any way to get Outside the gate unless you use a car or other vehicle. Or if there is, they sure don't tell you about it or make it known at the entrance/exit gate. There is nowhere to punch in a code or a button to push. I was stuck inside for 30 mins before I asked a guy if he'd mind pulling up to the gate so I could run out and go to the bathroom. Because there isn't a bathroom provided on the premises. (My car was blocked in by the moving truck that was unloading all of our things. This isn't the problem of the company, letting my car get blocked in was my mistake. But not having an obvious way to get outside that gate without a car IS their problem.) I'd like to point out that the times I needed access were during normal business hours and I have no idea if their response time is different outside of business hours. I'm considering a 2 rating because the issues of not being able to gain access when I'd like to is a major issue for a business like this. However, my things were in a controlled environment and are safe, so I'll bump it up to 3. One more thing...please be careful of the pull lock thing on the door when you first open your unit. Those things are hard to get off and I cut my thumb pretty bad. Just be careful! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Atlantic Discount Storage - 1050 NC 210 Hwy include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 520 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Atlantic Discount Storage - 1050 NC 210 Hwy start from $74 and can go up to $257 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
