Judith at this location is incredible! She not only helped me get the perfect unit for my needs when another unit I had picked out ending up not working, but is also so good at her job of multitasking customers! She made the Public Storage decision an extremely positive one and I hope she is here for years to come! She deserves a raise with all she has to take care of by herself! Thank you Judith for all your hard work! ... Read more

I can't explain how frustrated and disappointed I am in the way that my stuff has been sold and the way they handled my storage unit. I moved into the unit on the 28th of September and on the 4th of October I was "ACCIDENTALLY TERMINATED" by the PROPERTY MANAGER who is never available nor at work. I called the office several times and did not get a call back from anyone until it was time for the bill to be due. When I came to the place over a total of 8 days strait and no one was in the office finally I got a call from what was an interim District Manager and they said they were going to look into my situation. They never called me back as I continued to receive late fees, threats of my stuff being sold, and STILL HAD NO ACCESS TO THE UNIT. When I was finally able to reach someone by the name "JAMES WHITE" he informed me that he was the new District Manager and that he was going to help me with my situation but "I NEEDED TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE PAST DUE" and I Told him I don't find it fair nor is it ethical for them to ask me to pay for the time that I was locked out of my unit. On several occasions I asked them to allow me to just come get my stuff and Let me leave this place but I got a bunch of run around of him saying "MY BOSS IS GOING TO REACH OUT TO YOU". NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS NOW AFTER CHRISTMAS AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. The property manager called me the other day to say that "JAMES WHITE PUT IN THE NOTES HE SPOKE WITH YOU ON THE 6TH OF THE MONTH". This phone call was less than one minute of him telling me that he was going to AGAIN "HAVE HIS BOSS REACH OUT". To my understanding my unit has been sold and I'm working to find the legal way to proceed against them because they have show nothing but neglect since the first day that I've been a customer at this location. DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT! IF YOU VALUE YOUR THINGS...DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! THEY'RE ONLY GETTING ONE STAR BECAUSE IT FORCES ME TO PUT ONE! ... Read more

When I tell you this is the worst experience I've ever had with a storage facility!!!!!!! Please tell why was I locked out of my unit just 3 days after opening the account for almost A week and a half. I had a major performance and all of equipment was locked in the storage and I was unable to get it because the manager ended canceling the account by accident. I moved into the unit on the 1st of the month and here today it's the 28th and I Get a message that I'm being locked out of my unit for non payment. I still to this day have yet to hear back from the property manager. I been to the office 6 times this month and there's no one ever in the office, I've called and left several messages and never got a response back for anything. I wouldn't suggest this location to my friends DOG!!!! I should have known I would have issues with this location because there was furniture laying all over the property, there was trash in front of the office and more. I plan to move all of my things out of this location to somewhere else because apparently NO ONE WORKS THERE EVER!!!! I would appreciate a call from the regional office or something because even the day that I did come into the office and someone was there, they talked so bad about the manager instead of trying to make my account situation better! MY ACTUAL RATING WOULD BE -50 STARS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WORST! ... Read more

Great experience! I had done a reservation online (through a third party site) and the unit wasn’t exactly what I needed. So I went in and spoke with Judith and she was super pleasant and helpful. She found me the unit that fit my needs and got me squared away. No hassle. No runaround. Just simple, good customer service! Great experience 10/10 would recommend! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 4222 Atlantic Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 4222 Atlantic Avenue start from $40 and can go up to $243 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
