I contacted Barringer Moving & Storage less than 24 hours in advance to move a sectional sofa that I had purchased, and they responded immediately. They provided an accurate arrival time, delivered as promised, and even disposed of our old sofa. The entire team was very friendly and professional. Their pricing was very reasonable, and I highly recommend them for any moving needs. I will definitely use them again ! ... Read more

Quote was higher than what we actually paid, which is ALWAYS a nice surprise. The three gentlemen were very polite and engaging and went the second mile with some moving up stairs and removing and taking away a heavy treadmill. Could not be happier! Will hire Barringer for our next move. ... Read more

Reached out to Barringer moving for a move out of state. Keith was very accommodating as I wouldn't be able to be at the storage unit on the day of the move (The move out from the storage unit went flawless). The estimate was fairly priced and communication was solid the whole process. The crew asked me what time would be convenient for the move in, and they showed up at that time. The crew was fantastic, funny, and enjoyable. They got the move in done in great time. Randal communicated everything that was going on and kept us aware of the progress. No bumps, dents, scratches at all. Highly recommend these guys, couldn't be happier! ... Read more

We moved from Port Charlotte, FL to Hickory, NC. I received bids from a mover in Florida and a mover in Hickory. I liked the idea of working with a family owned business and I felt very comfortable discussing our move with Keith Curtis at Barringer Moving. The three men drove down to Florida, carefully packed the moving truck and delivered our furniture safely to our new home in Hickory. My experience is that the company is reliable, the employees are caring and friendly and the prices are fair. ... Read more

Justin was thorough with questions asked and estimate prior to moving day. The guys that came out on moving day were very nice and worked hard to get our stuff moved to our storage units. However, I recently went to open my storage units for the first time and am deeply upset with how everything was packed. We had discussed larger items in the back and boxes in the front to make it easier to get to our belongings. One piece of the sectional is in the center of the unit. Also, I bought 10+ moving blankets for $20 a piece to cover our couches and nursery chair. None of them are covered. I hired movers due to the fact that I can not move larger items and do not have help. How am I supposed to get to our boxed items? For over $1000 and a tip, I am disappointed. However, I should have went to view the work before the end of the moving day and not find this months later. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Barringer Moving-Storage - 2860 Nathan Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals and Parking. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
