Read some helpful reviews of Storage Depot, The at 132 Cross Road Drive, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I leased a 30ft by 11.5 ft space. When I arrived, the space had a light post nearly in the middle of the space. I called the manager who said the 30 ft was measured from the light post. I measured it and it was 20 ft 3 inches and 11 ft 3 inches wide. My boat was hanging out by a few inches and he said they would fine me or charge me extra for a larger unit. I asked why they sold me a unit 2/3rd the size they advertised in the contract and he terminated my lease. Horrible experience. I was able to get the boat to fit around the light post but the manager said he was terminating my lease and disabling my access code. No where in the contract allows for this when I violated no clause. The 45 ft spaces they advertise are actually 38 ft. ... Read more

I don't know much about storage units but being in between houses I had to learn. Storage units here are reserved online and you can also call the owner if you need to. Like for example I had a top storage 5×5 locker. I was trying to get something of mine that was small out and it fell thru the crack into the bottom locker. I thought it was going to be gone forever! I called the owner and he got in touch with the tenant below me and recovered my item! I ended up getting a bottom unit instead and the transfer was painless. Support a local business and get a unit here. They are open every day from 7am-9pm, but why would you need to go to storage at 3am?! Haha. ... Read more

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
