Read some helpful reviews of 10 Federal Self Storage at 75 Lanvale Road NE, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Payment options make it an easier process, as opposed to most that are cash only. They give you a gate code as well, so you can have 24hr access, compared to others that make you have someone let you in and out every time you come back. Whether it's an auction win or monthly rates, they have everyone beat. ... Read more

No one working at the facility sucks. I have to call to tell them when the place is dirty, when the gates broke, when like this week the air is broke in the climate controlled building. Rent keeps going up service keeps going down. Air been broke over a week in my building think they will give me a credit prob not unless I call and beg for it. I'm 1 rent increase from moving out. I wish they would put weather strip and door sweeps on all the doors to save electric rather than raising the rent every 4 months and saying it's cause cost have went up here so.e photos looking at day light coming from around doors and from outside at night where u can see lights inside these things are easy and cheap fixes that would save electricity and mo ey. But just raise the rent and do t worry about it. ... Read more

I submitted a move-out request online in July after our storage unit was broken into for the second time. When you call, the automated system just directs you to complete the move-out process online—which I did. Despite this, I was surprised to receive a notice today saying I owe rent for August. I’ve called several times last month and again today, and no one ever answers. When I finally get a call back—usually 48 hours later—I’m given a rotating list of excuses, including earthquakes, power outages, and who knows what else. At this point, it feels like this company operates out of a disaster zone. I don’t know why they even have phones if no one plans to answer them. The lack of communication and follow-through is beyond frustrating. ... Read more

I give them a 2 only because the reps are somewhat helpful once you reach them. I rented space for a 30 foot trailer. They left no room between spaces for the tow vehicle to maneuver, making it impossible to park close to the fence. Also, they have parked a camper and a boat at the corner making it extremely difficult to make the turn. After 20 minutes and less than an inch to spare I made the turn to my spot. Same thing getting out. The storage units in the buildings are probably fine. But for parking a trailer, it won't work for anything over about 20 feet. The place is honestly a trainwreck. So many junk cars and people encroaching on other peoples spots it makes it risky in terms of potential damage, and very difficult to get in/parked/out again. ... Read more

This storage facility is in Brunswick county off of highway 17 towards Myrtle Beach. It has lots of cameras. So your every move is monitored by CCTV. It has controlled entry and exit. Your things are definitely safe here. I highly recommend this storage facility company. ... Read more

We've been loyal customers of 10 Federal Storage on Lanvale Rd for over a year while our house is being built. Unfortunately, our experience has been less than satisfactory due to several issues. Within that time, we've faced two rate increases, with the most recent hike being nearly 30%. While we can understand slight rate increases, this is significant. The customer service has also been very frustrating. Despite multiple calls and requests for escalation, the response has been slow. After waiting over a week for a callback, we received a voicemail asking us to call back. When we did, it was the same generic number, leading to yet another long hold time. While the facility itself is decent, the lack of efficient customer service and the rate increases have made our experience quite disappointing. We hope the management addresses these issues promptly. ... Read more

Not a safe place to store your travel trailer. Better make sure you have it locked up good. My battery was stolen. The next time I went over somebody hit the camper popping a hole through the side. They do not watch their cameras and they were no help to me. And raised my price per month. ... Read more

I had an issue with the wrong outside door lock on the storage unit but received excellent support from both Regina (customer service agent at Raleigh call center) and Angela (account manager in Raleigh) to get this issue resolved. Angela followed up with a nice call to discuss this and answer questions and offered a credit for the day lost. Thank you both for your outstanding support! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at 10 Federal Self Storage - 75 Lanvale Road NE include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
