The overall experience with Brooks was great. This was my first time using a storage so my inexperience led to a little confusion. The customer service team was readily available to sort it out. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Thank you! ... Read more
Darlene M. - 6 May 2025
The process of selecting a unit was straightforward, but I made the mistake of not factoring in the weather in NC and not choosing a temperature-controlled unit, as well as the right size. When I called, Jonathan was incredibly helpful. He was pleasant, professional, and took the time to thoroughly explain all of my options. He made sure to find the most cost-effective solution, and I really appreciated that. It was clear that he genuinely cared about my situation, and I didn’t feel like just another tenant. The units were clean and well-maintained, which added to the positive experience. I couldn’t be happier and I’m really glad I found this company! ... Read more

They was very unprofessional at first. I could see someone on the inside behind the desk but because for whatever reason they wouldn't let me in. I called the telephone number on the door, someone answered and I began to ask what were they closed and the person said no. The person eventually came to the door and let me in. They began to try to explain why the door were locked. I was to upset to even want to hear an explanation. I just wanted to get an storage and leave. She put my name wrong in the computer after asking for it and obtaining my id with my name on it. I corrected it with her before leaving her office. She assured me she would correct it but when I came back the next day it still was not corrected. So, I told the staff that were on duty and he corrected my name. After all, I had a great experience!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Brooks Mini Storage - 1001 J P Harrison Blvd start from $53 and can go up to $415 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
