We had an amazing experience at Clear-Home Self Storage. From the moment I called for availability and spoke with Charlie he was friendly, professional, and helpful. He made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The facility is beyond clean and secure. Leaving your belongings in storage can sometimes be worrisome. Since the time we moved in I haven’t given it a second thought. The added bonus is you can access your unit 24/7. I would highly recommend this facility. I can assure you, you won’t regret it. ... Good, friendly service from Charlie! It was late in the day too but he was still just as polite and accommodating as could be, fixed our reservation and showed us a smaller unit that we ended up getting ... Read more

My experience with ClearHome was great! Registering online was a breeze, the facility and unit were clean, and the first time on site, Charlie came by to welcome me and provide the info I needed. I didn’t need the unit long, and he called me to confirm the second I sent the email notice to move out. The entire process was effortless, and you don’t really find good customer service like that anymore. ... Read more

Franz was a pleasure to work with. He did everything at ease and swiftly over the phone. The manager, Charlie also called to inquire the next day to ensure all went well. I also visited the storage unit and it was very nice, clean and the location has cameras. ... Read more

Nina V. - 14 March 2025
I've had a storage unit with ClearHome Kings Mountain since they opened about 3 years ago. I knew a rate change was inevitable at some point. The first time it happened. I moved from a 10 x 25 to a 10 x 30, and instead of increasing I went from $181 to $171. Three months later it increased to $188 but I was okay with that since I got 5 extra feet for an extra $17 a month even though I had to move ALL OF MY BELONGINGS to dodge the rate increase. I didn't see another rate change until today, March 10th, 2025, when I got a letter in the mail stating my monthly rate was changing on April 1st. About a 20 day notice. This time, the rate change is $36 when last time it was only $17. I am very satisfied with my unit but very dissatisfied with the upper corporate management that makes unrealistic rate increases to long-term customers that never miss a payment. By speaking with a rep on the phone, she pretty much told me that only new move ins get a promotional rate for 3 months, blah blah. That's not true because I have been there for over two years, and my "promotional rate" (it was not a promotional rate when I signed up and was never promoted as such when I moved in) has only changed twice. It's just a bunch of corporate nonsense that I will no longer put up with. Edit: Thank you for the reply. I will speak with the manager on duty once he is back from vacation on Thursday. You said you regularly review pricing to ensure the facility is well maintained, providing secure and quality service. The gate on Oak Grove side was broken for 10 months when I first moved in July of 2023. Now, the gate on the adjacent side, on Scism Rd, has been broken for several months, as we speak. The gate hangs up and stays open, sometimes for days at a time (like now, when the manager is on vacation). That is not safe. I know there has been efforts made to resolve the gates but it shouldn't take nearly a year each time. For the record, the manager on duty is great. He is always accommodating and has even figured a temporary solution to close the gate when it malfunctions. It seems the issue goes up the chain. I will go further to outline the fact that when the facility was still new most of the big units were empty. Therefore, less revenue for the facility. Fast forward to today, most of the big units are rented. I know all of the 10x30s on G row were last month. There is only one employee on the grounds, when there used to be two. The facility should be bringing in more cash flow than ever before. It just doesn't add up and there is not obvious reasoning for my rent increasing from $188 to $224 when my rate hasn't changed since April of 2024. It has been a year. If anything I feel like I should get a slight discount for being a loyal customer :). In all reality, I would just like things to stay the same. Transparency is very important to me. I look forward to Thursday. Thanks ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at ClearHome Self Storage - 252 Oak Grove Road include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by ClearHome Self Storage - 252 Oak Grove Road start from $28 and can go up to $250 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
