I rented the storage unit back in June 2025 Add a particular price that I signed the contract for fast forward to January 2026 I saw that I was deducted approximately $30 or so more each month for the storage unit I called. I logged a complaint that the contract I signed was for a different dollar amount but they told me they sent me an email and that they’ve decided to go ahead and raise it to approximately $30 more per month. I log a complaint and a manager called me back and told me that they have the ability to go through your contract and decide whoever they wanna raise it on that they’re gonna just raise it even though that was not what the contract I signed, said. I told him that I was taking care of my family whose properties were badly damaged by hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and I didn’t receive that email and for him to refund that $30 Ish that I paid extra and if you could charge that going forward because I did not know that they were gonna raise the price. He said no this is what they’re doing. He cannot do nothing about it. He doesn’t care that I’m in Jamaica that my family is suffering from hurricane Melissa they’re gonna do what they gotta do and they’re gonna raise their price. Fast forward to now February and my stuff is moved out that manager was disgusting! His attitude was disgusting! Before you run from here, just know that whatever contract you sign they could go through it and they could decide to raise the price on you at any stinking time at all. Good luck. ... Read more

No issues with the unit, climate control seems to be reliable. The staff is helpful, there's just been a time or two when they were not there. It might be just the single staff taking lunches or such. Not a huge deal. It's also much easier to get in/out now that the road construction is mostly done. ... Read more

I came into security storage because the sign out by the road said 1st month free, free lock, and no admin fees for the first month. When I brought this to there attention one of the managers at the office said she couldn’t do anything about it, but would send an email to if someone higher up would acknowledge there mess up. This manager I spoke with in the office acted like I was a bother to her by bringing up my concerns. So after a few days I stopped back in to see if they would honor there mistake. I spoke with Rachel, and she was very understanding of my frustration, but reviewed the emails sent and they refused to honor there screw up. Again Rachel was amazing. I’d say that she is the only good thing about that place. So they are willing to lose a customer over $40. I will take my business elsewhere even if it cost me more. I’d rather pay more to someone who doesn’t scam the customers. This place is shady. They make you purchase one of there locks for $20 plus pay $15 for insurance. If you put your own lock on, they will cut it off and replace with one of there’s. They try to get as much money out of you as they can. Save yourself the headaches and go somewhere else! ... I worked with Rachel to get an outdoor storage slot. She was fantastic! She made sure to follow up with a call to me since I had a unit reserved. She was also able to make sure I had ample to view the lot before renting. I appreciated her knowledge of the site, her speed of service, and honestly just her attitude that made me feel very connected to the business. I made me feel like my belongings would be safe in this location. So glad I stopped by to rent. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Security Self Storage - 5755 Veterans Parkway include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
