We’ve been customers with iron storage since November 2023 we found out yesterday that the unit was broken into and the means of entrance was by removing screws from the sidewall and coming in our unit. And it is the only one at the end of the road where cameras are not located many items were taken things like my father’s guns and crossbow and antique knives. My dad passed away in October 2023 and everything in that unit was all my sister and I had left and it has been stolen along with some other valuables, of my husbands late Aunt. Iron Storage has refused numerous phone calls to come out and put the bolts back into the unit so that it is secure so we’ve had to make barricades ourselves from the inside. A Claim will be submitted, but we have reached out to a lawyer because of the security level being solo, not to mention, they never mow the area and trash piles everywhere. piles of items from other people laying out very trashy, and they raise the prices in February I would never choose again . ... I have absolutely loved having y'all my stuff stays dry from any storm unlike my last unit I had in Waynesville so thankful for that and the location is pretty sweet too cuz it's kinda hidden so I worry less about it being broke into but also love that if that were to happen God forbid but if it were to happen I pay for it to be insured which I didn't have that option at the last place either and even found out they have had some recent break-ins cuz my grandmother still has a couple units at my last storage place! Y'all have been very patient with me when I have been behind on my payments another thing I'm super grateful for and overall just very pleased with renting my unit from y'all! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Iron Storage - 674 Thompson Street include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
