BEWARE: A clause buried on page 7 section 24 of the lease lets them raise your rent whenever they choose, which apparently is quarterly. It is incredibly deceptive, especially since section 1 of the lease states that the terms of the lease are fixed until it's terminated. Now I understand why their rates were better than other companies, its a bait-and-switch. So now I either have to move my stuff AGAIN or pay their quarterly 36% rent increases. I should have know better than to use them in the first place since the gate was broken at the location I originally reserved a unit at, as were most of the gates at the other SmartStop locations in the area. I finally found one with a working gate, but the rent was considerably higher than what I reserved. They did agree to discount months two and three for my bad experience, but I later had to fight to get them to honor it. Then a month later, they raised the rent 36% more than what I signed the lease for. When I went to talk about it they said it was a corporate level decision and there was nothing they could do. But you can not contact the corporate office, they will just route you back to the local location. This company is not trustworthy and takes advantage of people. I won’t use them again. I recommend finding a place with a slight higher rate that won't raise the rent in you after you've moved in. ... Read more

Really love this storage place. Michelle F. and the whole crew has always been super supportive of me and my needs. Storage unit is sealed, weather proofed and with the exception of an occasional friendly spider, amazingly clean. They were kind and generous during my time of homelessness and helped stay open late to accommodate my life needs and my worries! Seriously, love this place and all they've done for me! ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by SmartStop Self Storage - 127 Sweeten Creek Road start from $71 and can go up to $319 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
