Update #2: 10/25/25, the local manager responded to my one star review and was able to get my rate back down to the original. I am not going to give them a five star rating until my rate stays consistent for a while. You don’t offer discounted rates and then raise them in your customers a month into their use of your service, this is poor business practices for a good customer experience. It could even be considered predatory in a litigation case. Update: 9/2025: Don't use Prime Storage. I moved into my unit in the middle of August and they already raised my rates with some BS email (below) "As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining secure, clean, and convenient storage facilities, we periodically review our pricing to reflect current market conditions and operational costs." You periodically review your prices, what couple months after a customer moves into your unit, you know you have them hostage, so what are they going to do, hire a truck and move their stuff in storage out... This is a POOR business practice, and although its one of the nicest storage places I have used, I will never use Prime storage once I move out. Shame on management! Predatory business practice.... Initial Review: After some initial hiccups getting setup, the local manager got things squared away, honored the online price, got me a unit close to the front door. The facility is spotless, literally cleaner than some hotels I have been to before. I have access it at all times and no problem access the unit. Definitely recommend this over non-climate controlled units. ... Read more

We have used Prime Storage (Asheville) in our original move to the Asheville, NC area in 2018, and more recently, for the last 7 months preparing for another move to Hendersonville, NC. We just finished emptying 2 units to complete the move. It has been a wonderful experience. The facility was well lit, well maintained and has a great location, accessible to Asheville, Black Mountain and Hendersonville, right off of I-40 and I-240. Prime Storage was always open when we needed to make runs day or night and we always felt safe. All of the staff have been very accommodating, but we must single out Luke as the most efficient, friendly and caring associate who never failed to answer questions promptly and help us out whenever needed. He deserves all the accolades we can give him. Five stars all the way. Barbara Perry and Mike Smith ... Read more

The Asheville location is clean and felt safe and there were always good carts available. The manager was very helpful with an issue I had at the end of the lease and called me back 3 times to update and ultimately resolved it perfectly for me. Thanks and we will be back next time! ... Read more

So the check in and changing of units process was done with ease and grace. The employees are all very helpful and look for the best offers. The units were clean and easy to access. On a humanitarian note; I had a bit of a fall trying to move a piece onto the cart. The pain was excruciating and I had previous surgeries on my leg. Luke was quick to show up and offer ice, a chair and advil. I ended up in the ER that night. But Luke's quick response surely helped the situation not be as emergent even though I wasn't able to walk well. Thank you Luke for your good heart and quick smarts. ... Read more

Luke, the General Manager, runs this place very well. He handles any in-person inquiries like an expert, and courteously offers a cold, bottled water on hot summer days. Under Luke's management, the office, hallways and toilets are all nice and clean. Great music on the speaker system, as well. Thank you, Luke! Have a blessed day. ... Read more

Great experience with Prime Storage on Bleachery Blvd in Asheville, NC! In October 2024 after the hurricane I had to quickly move my things into storage and they were awesome. Now I’m ready to get my things out but still needed a small unit and they help me find the best space for a great price. When I moved in and when moving out the district manager happened to be working at this location and he is a great guy and very helpful! ... Read more

Update, changing rating to 2 stars from 1: management called me to apologize about my experience. They explained that the previous management is gone and they’ve revamped several things including their security. It sounds much better than before and I am grateful for the call. They now have logging for all building entry and cameras monitoring every entrance to each floor, things that would’ve easily caught the criminal during my theft. I will leave the rest of my original review for people to see the whole picture. ~~~~~~~ Pros: is space to store things indoors with air conditioning. Keypad access provides ~limited~ security Cons: - got stolen from with barely any support. There are cameras only monitoring the entrance and stairwells and that’s it. We were called that our lock was busted and conveniently their cameras were broken during the break in and they couldn’t recover the footage. The manager suspected it was another tenant who moved the stuff to their own unit and would then take it out later when suspicion was lower, but they had no logs for who used their entrance code overnight and they had no way to track down who it was since they have no cameras watching the units themselves (if they even would work). If they suspected that so immediately I would’ve expected them to beef up internal security, but no. Was told I’d hear from a regional manager about next steps, got left a voicemail once in return for my several attempts to contact them to no avail, and then never heard from them again (it’s been 1.5 years). When I came to see what stuff was still left I thought I heard some suspicious noises, I asked for one of the staff to accompany me and they treated me like I was completely a burden. They told me how the break-in on my lock looked like they used a certain tool instead of another, so the manager was experienced in units being broken into. For this to be a problem they’re so experienced in, and for them to charge so much, I would’ve expected more security in the building itself, and for their security to work at all. Having a camera monitored, code locked indoor building should’ve been the easiest criminal case ever, but Prime Storage entirely failed me. -rates went up consistently by significant percent, not like a few bucks but like several 10s per months, felt like a bait and switch ... There was a new manager at Prime Storage when we visited inquiring about the possibility of storing what was left of our household goods after being flooded from Bee Tree Creek post Helene. She could not have been more pleasant and accommodating as when we moved in we had to upsize our compartment and then eventually add a second. The facility is clean and easily accessible, with two elevators and plenty of carts. We have since moved on to a new home, but would gladly return in we have storage needs in the future. We highly recommend the facility, the location and of course the competent and friendly staff. ... Read more

We've had an excellent experience while at Prime Storage Asheville so far. We lost our office space in Biltmore Village due to hurricane helene and had to move all of our samples and office equipment to a storage unit for the time being until we secured a new office. Prime helped us schedule a tour and explained everything so well the day I called and we were able to secure a unit that day. Everything is very clean, there were always plenty of carts to use to move your things from your car to unit, bathrooms, they also have an option where they can accept packages for you as well if needed you just need to sign a form that they can receive for you, they also have other supplies like locks and boxes, tape, furniture covers etc. available for purchase in the office. There was always someone available in the office during office hours. The entire staff there have been super helpful, even when we had some strange requests and had like trucks delivering a pallet of shippers we needed to send out our samples. The office called me to alert me the pallets were there and they let me store it temporarily in the back of the parking lot until I could make it to the unit that day to unload. Special shout out to Jillian who has gone above an beyond for us she is so sweet and helpful. We will recommend anyone to Prime and we will be using them for all our storage needs. We had two units with them and now have gone down to one larger unit that you can load from two different doors which has been very useful. I saw reviews about people complaining about smells or mold. I haven't experienced that. Usually everything is as spotless as possible, but also keep in mind it is a storage unit with things from all different types of people there's always going to be a little dust flying around and smells but it is way better than others I have seen in my opinion. The only thing I was unhappy with is that they originally quoted me one price for the first 3 months but then our rent went up by $12 a month so I am unsure why that happened I think it's more corporate rules and not the local office problem. ... The staff is great--any questions were handled immediately and I was seamlessly switched from a large unit to a small one, and then called to say I was closing and the date I hoped to be out but wasn't sure. I made it in time and they ended my rent by observing I was out even before I called to let them know. The premises are always clean and the climate controlled units are just that. I will rent here again if I need extra space. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Prime Storage - 701 Bleachery Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Prime Storage - 701 Bleachery Blvd start from $70 and can go up to $306 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
