I wouldn’t recommend this Public Storage location. My experience has been consistently frustrating. Customer service has been poor, and one employee in particular has had an unprofessional attitude every time I’ve interacted with her. Instead of feeling like customers are valued, it often feels like you’re an inconvenience. Communication is also a major issue. During bad weather, there’s little to no clear information about whether the facility is open or accessible, which is a problem since people still need to get to their units. I rented a unit at this facility in January and in less than 6 months the rent has doubled. When I called to inquire about the increase, I was told that the unit is ‘market rate’ and could fluctuate accordingly this, however to me made no sense. I was also told that there would be request to reduce my rent, but of course it could not be reduced. Today I go to the unit to retrieve some of my items and upon reaching the end of the hall there were several cardboard boxes blocking the aisle. Initially I thought someone was either moving in or out but when I turn to try to reach my storage unit, I was shocked to see a setup of about 6 women with at least five plastic tables and chairs set up in the middle of the aisle blocking almost the entire section of at least 10 storage units. I was then very rudely greeted by a woman, who I initially thought worked at the facility who wanted to know why I was in the aisle, then she asked me if I had a unit in this aisle. At this point I’m absolutely puzzled and say yes. She looks at the other women and says this woman is trying to get to her storage unit. Not one of them acknowledges her statement, looks up, or even moves. They continue going on as if she said nothing. I said, excuse me, but I need to get to my unit. The woman then questions me and asks which unit is mine. I tell her the unit and a woman at the very end of the table says with a very nasty, condescending attitude, yeah her unit looks like it’s down here you can go around. Not one woman moved or even attempted to do anything. I end up going back through another aisle all the way around to the other side and get to my unit. I then go to the main office to to find out if this is something through Public Storage and why I was not allowed free access to my unit. The woman at the desk, although very polite, offered a plain explanation that they run a nonprofit. I informed her how rude the woman had been and about her attitude, and I almost felt as though I was the problem because she said yes I’ll speak with her. I then asked how is this ok that people can just set up shop in the middle of a storage facility and not allow paying customers to freely access their units? She agreed, and again very politely said she would speak to the woman. I honestly felt as though nothing would be done so I indeed called corporate to inquire about this issue, and the rate increases. I was told that my unit was in a very desirable location and they adjust the rent accordingly. When I spoke of the issue of the people set up and blocking the storage units, I was initially brushed off and told that this could not have been the case because this is not allowed. I then told her that this was absolutely the case, and I also had a video and pictures that I will be posting. I was then met with a totally different attitude and demeanor. After learning that I did have video of it I was then met with slightly more empathy and told that something would be done about this. They now plan to call and find out what’s going on, which I doubt will happen. I have no issues with nonprofit organizations, and such. I do have a problem as a paying customer who cannot access their unit, especially after paying exorbitant rate to even rent the unit. This was totally unacceptable. Management should have taken an issue with this, and clearly this is a regular occurrence because there was no surprise at all. While clean, and at the very least met with polite staff, I do not recommend this facility. If you are looking to have regular access to your items at a reasonable rate this is not the place. ... Before you think about renting just don’t! They will not let you move out! I feel like I’m in a bad breakup where the facility won’t move on. I scheduled 2 weeks in advance my move out date. Called to confirm instructions of move out. Moved out. Called to confirm move out. Now I’m receiving a rent due that’s even increased. I call the very next day, am assured the situation will be rectified. Only having it be July 7th (Move out was June 30th) and the situation is still not solved. I have called over 9 times to ensure that my lease was finalized on June 30th only to now receive a text saying I’ll be sent to collections if i do not pay this new increased rent for a unit i am no longer renting. Their rates keep going up....Monday 1/28/2019 just went there today and again the plow company has snow plowed up against the doors so you can't get in without shoveling don't they know how to plow away from the buildings and leave a little snow that fell and not push it up into it the Door openings.... Ridiculous!!!!!! Update 1/28/2022 I took those pictures three different times and you think the plow company would do a better job... clear away the snow not all the way in but close to the openings as possible ..
