John M. - 29 September 2025
Worst place ever they took my money and then said they didn't ..plus they screwed up by giving me an indoor unit when I asked for a drive up. Plus the area on E. 121st Ave is really a shady place... because the area isn't the best place to go by yourself even during the daylight... I never used the facility because of the mistake of the inside unit, and they said they don't give refunds for any circumstances...what a crappy way of doing business...when they messed up!! ... I run a local small business and I have had to make storage reservations as well as rent U-Hauls all over Thornton, Northglenn, Broomfield, Westminster etc - This is by far THE BEST location I work with. I highly recommend - John is very helpful and the owner Alex Is as well. Plus they have a cool shop inside. 5 of 5 good job ... Read more

This place will most likely try to scam you like they did with me. Be careful. Paid twice the amoumt I agreed upon, with a second charge a day later. There's so many U-Haul dealers! Go somewhere else !! ... Read more
Mike R. - 11 August 2024
Called to get an estimate for a 10x15 or 10x20 and the first person that answered phone was the most disrespectful person I have ever met and couldn’t figure out basic math and when asked for a manager he came up with 45 seconds worth of every reason to not place me on hold til a manager was available. Once I address again I wanted to speak to a manager I heard the first line person yelling and screaming at the manager about the situation and I address I wanted to make sure I had enough money available at the time the owner gave me rough estimate….. I’d never go threw the first person if it was the last storage place in Colorado ... Read more
Chris M. - 7 August 2024
Great storage for a reasonable price and convenient to rent and return the u-haul truck I used for the transition. Had to store my things for longer than expected, but that was no issue and I experienced no raise in rates while I needed my unit! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Thornton Self Storage - 3685 East 121st Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate and Credit Cards Accepted. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 375 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Thornton Self Storage - 3685 East 121st Avenue start from $59 and can go up to $289 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
