Excellent experience from initial contact until I moved out. I had a really unique situation of only needing to use the unit for 2 and 1/2 Weeks while my apartment was being renovated. Couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. Jarod, at the front desk, gave first class customer service. Took time to work with me and make sure all my needs were met. The facility is clean, well lit, temperature control is comfortable. There were lots of carts to wheel stuff in and out. Large garage door made it easy to get big stuff in. If I ever have storage needs, long-term or short-term I'll be back. -- Thanks Jarod! ... Read more

Nothing but good things to say about this place and its staff! Jarod made our moving experience as seamless as possible. I called ahead of coming in, realizing we had more stuff than would fit in our original unit. He worked with me to get a deal on a small unit in addition to the one we already had and made sure it was right down the hall to make it convenient for us. I also let him know we were on a pretty tight timeline and he had everything ready to go for us when we walked in the door, paperwork ready to sign, lock ready to use, and even offered to stay after office hours if we needed him. The space itself is clean and climate controlled, which was really important for our needs. Highly recommend Storage Star, and if you can work with Jarod you'll have a great experience. ... Read more

Annette has been a pleasure to work with. Being out of town sometimes makes it challenging to address storage changes, etc but she makes the process seamless. Her positive and friendly approach are the reasons I keep a unit at the Fort Collins location, even though there are other options out there. Thanks for such great customer service! ... Read more

We rented two large storage units at Storage Star, and we had no problems (except for moving in/out before staff was there- those doors automatically shut and we had to have one of us keep them open until 9:00). We felt that the units were secure and clean. We liked the temperature control too! ... Read more

I am an out of state mom renting for my CSU student. They made it so easy to rent from them. They have everything online. The process was very easy. I wanted to make sure I was filling out everything so I called to verify things. Someone actually answered the phone. Other storage places I called and no one answered. The gentleman (Hastia) I spoke to was so friendly and easily explained everything to me. I was able to purchase everything I needed and when my daughter arrived, he showed her where the unit was and how to place the lock correctly. My daughter and I were very impressed with them and would recommend anyone who needs to rent to go here. ... Read more

Fantastic location, the facility is clean and bright. It's been quiet every time I've gone. They have carts that help make moving awkward items so much easier. I am very happy with my services here after coming into the office and speaking with the two gentlemen who were at the front desk. I called and made reservations over the phone with a third party (I didn't know that at the time) and was told some wrong information. I came into the office to pay for my reservations and the two gentlemen (I forgot their names) were very helpful and cleared up all the confusion. I was even upgraded to a bigger unit for the same price. They were kind, welcoming, and gave great customer service. This company is even helping Crossroads Safe House with their food drive. I think that's pretty awesome. If you are reading this post go and take dry food and other items for the food drive. You can also call and they can tell you what's on the list that is needed?? ... Literally the worst storage facility in Fort Collins. We have four facilities that we use for storage needs and Storage Star is BY FAR the worst. You can expect significant rent increases every few months. You can expect horrific customer service. They will ignore emails claiming they were never received even when you blind copied another address that received the emails just fine. There are a million excuses why they ignore your issues. You can tell most of these positive reviews are fake and there’s definitely a reason for it. The outside units are extremely unsafe, the prices they charge are way above other facilities in town and the staff is rude. I’ve walked into the office and heard them making fun of clients. Do yourself a favor and find another storage center. You’ll be glad you did. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Star - 137 Skyway Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Star - 137 Skyway Drive start from $53 and can go up to $267 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
