Can't say enough good things about my experience here, and Morgan in particular. Morgan took the time to explain everything in detail and made the entire move-in process so smooth. Morgan's helpfulness made all the difference! ... Read more

Big Rob , Zach , Morgan ,Patty are very friendly and do their best to answer questions and help in any way they can.The facility is always clean even on cold winter days I see them out salting the front gate area to make it easier for customers to get in and up the small hill. They are walking the lot checking on people or just keeping an eye on things. And always speak unless with other customers even then they at least acknowledge I'm here.it makes me feel more than just a customer. ... Read more

RATS. I moved in, and a week later, I found a package of open (eaten) rat poison in my unit. I have rented a dozen or more units from various companies in my life, and I have never had a management company put rat poison in my unit. If I wanted to deal with a rat infestation, I would just leave my things outside for free. I had to call twice to speak to anyone about this, and the matter was treated very nonchalantly (Oh, you didn't want rat poison in your unit? We won't put it in there next time...). I have to go clean out my unit, and now I don't know if I will find dead rats in my things (?) ... Read more

I have never in my life dealt with a more obnoxious company. Upon moving out, I was told that I could not get a prorated rate for that month because I got a prorate on my second month. I believed what I was told but when I checked later I saw that I've always paid the exact same amount. I got in touch with customer service and they were WILDLY unhelpful. They kept repeating that I couldn't get a reimbursement for the month of move out and completely ignored everything I said about being told my second month was prorated. When someone finally addressed what I was saying (three representatives later) they told me that they don't prorate: period. I asked why I was lied to by the office manager and I got no answer and no help. I also overpaid for one month and when I asked about at least getting that back (literally $3) I was told that they can no longer do reimbursements because my account was closed. This was the day I closed the account, not even 3 hours later. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and just go somewhere else. When a $58 billion company fights you over $63, the corporate greed is nauseatingly obvious. ... Read more

Being able to rent units anytime online is great but the application needs some work and or company needs to be willing to compensate its mistakes. thought renting online was amazing until I accidentally rented 3 units and was charged for a service fee which I was told to be non refundable no matter what. Then the $1 for the first month wasn’t given on either unit ended up paying the discounted current rate and had to deal with it all on my own trying to contact the correct person which never happened in the end never got the first month for a $1.00 actually paid more because didn’t have the time or want to move to another storage worried the next might end up even worse. Might be better to have an actual person double checking these mistakes. ... Read more

Great storage facility. The rates are good and competitive for the area. The property manager who operates this location is a great human to work with (names don’t stick in my memory long, sorry!!) Please have a plan and discuss with any moving companies you may use to haul your items- and discuss with the property manager as well. He has tips, suggestions and great advice and guidance on companies. I made that mistake by not talking to him first and had a company whose truck was too large to effectively travel through the corridors and a lot of time and energy was wasted (moving company not Public Storage!) Location is great, albeit not the easiest to access first time showing up- but if you rent there it won’t be a problem and you’ll find your groove fast. It is on quite a hill- but that means there’s no worry about water damage to your items! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 5929 South College Avenue include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5929 South College Avenue start from $35 and can go up to $164 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
