Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 680 Sheridan Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

As if this place doesn’t already have highly restricted hours, I’m sitting here in my car waiting for them to open as it seems they decided it was advantageous to change the hours of access from 9am to 930am. The whole dynamic of this industry preys on people whom store a large quantity of belongings… Literally 2 days after I moved my stuff in here they changed the hours from closing at 9pm to closing at 6pm. And we are strictly forbidden to be here after hours. And guess what…. It’s “for our safety.” I don’t know how I would make through day after day without the misleading assertion for them closing early for "my safety." And now they pushed opening back 30 minutes… so we have a total of 8.5 hours, literally concurrent with normal working business hours, that we have access. I rented two units moved everything in and now lost 95% of the time I would be available to go there. And just as the practice of every other storage rental facility… 2 rent increases in a year because why do the right thing? Why do what’s fair? Why take care of the people who pay their rent? No, let’s utilize predatory tactics and get people locked-in and increase rent.. because everyone else does it… so even though it is systematically completely bogus and predatory we are going to do it anyway. Plus, a $500 charge that took me a month to remove for a service that was billed for but never completed. Who does that? Preemptively bills for a service that was never completed?!? Forcing me to contact them countless times and then meet at the property with the district area manager, while I was supposed to be at work, to have it removed. Only good thing is my stuff has a place to stay… A place that continuously increases in price while continuously decreasing the time to access the unit. All while wasting my time with a fraudulent/uncompleted service charge removal. UPDATE 6/4/26: After posting this review, I received a private voicemail from Tiffany Johnson, who identified herself as a district manager for Public Storage. I had not asked to be contacted privately about the review. The voicemail focused mainly on the access-hours issue. She stated that the hours change was “not recent” and had been that way for “about a 2 year span.” I moved into my first unit at this location on 6/30/24, which is just under two years ago. That timing is important because my concern is that I was not told before renting that the access hours were about to be reduced from a 9pm to a 6pm closing time shortly after move-in. That change materially affected me. I rent a 10x20 unit and a 5x10 unit here, both full of belongings. Moving that much property is a major burden, so access-hour changes after move-in matter. The voicemail also said, “we can get you transferred out.” I never requested a transfer. I posted a review describing my experience. Being privately contacted after a negative public review and then being told they can transfer me “out” is concerning, especially when moving is the exact burden I described. My concerns remain: reduced access after move-in, repeated rent increases, a prior $500 charge for a service that was billed but not completed (Tiffany is the manager I had to meet with to have this charge removed), being essentially locked-in to the property post move-in, and the lack of transparency around access-hour changes. Current and future tenants should ask for written confirmation of gate hours, pending access-hour changes, rent-increase policy, and any added fees before moving belongings in. ... Read more

I returned to this location after roughly twenty years, and was pleasantly surprised! The people here really seem to understand the struggles and difficulties most people have when moving their personal things into storage. But beyond that, the price is better than what I'm currently paying, and this location is both secure and has 24 hour monitoring which is something that's needed for every storage facility, in my opinion. Many thanks to Stevie for being so nice, it was very much appreciated! ... Read more

So….. I’m shopping for a storage unit with security & climate control. I struggled with the 1800 number & customer service. Sterling called me right away & explained everything, answered all of my questions. She was such a pleasure to talk with. Made doing business like we were having coffee. I also received a call from Moe, he was also easy to converse with & answered my questions with the location I chose. He was spot on. Great customer service with both Sterling & Moe. I am comfortable with my choice in securing my belongings with Public Storage. The rate was unbeatable! Give Sterling & Moe a raise!!!! Thanks guys! ... Read more

I just rented a storage unit, from Public Storage, yesterday. After checking out several different storage facilities...I easily went with Public Storage, because of price, and location. I have been renting a unit, from a competitor, for about 8 years now. I am in the process of moving, so I needed a bigger storage unit. I got a unit that is more than twice the size, bigger, than the unit I had somewhere else, for only a few dollars more. When I went to check out the unit....the young gentleman who helped me, I think his name was Isiah, was very professional, courteous, and friendly. Made me feel like a valued customer. Answered all my questions. And thanked me for my business. There needs to be more people like him in this world!! There were 2 women employees that were there also. Very friendly, as well. I'm glad I made the move to Public Storage ... Read more

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend Where do I even begin? The gate hours are absolutely terrible. You can’t access your unit after 5 or 6 PM, which is completely unrealistic for anyone who works a normal job. Most people can’t just take time off during the day to get to their storage unit. On top of that, the office staff is incredibly inconsistent with communication. They’ve raised my rent without any notice, and I constantly have issues with autopay not working properly. Every month, I get emails or calls saying my payment is due—even though I’ve set up autopay multiple times. Security is another major issue. The facility is not well-maintained or secure. Homeless individuals and transients regularly access the property and have no problem hanging around or even breaking in. There’s a much better, more secure facility across the street (also Public Storage), even if it’s three times the cost—at least there, you’re paying for peace of mind and convenience. As soon as I can find the time to move my things, I’m done with this place. It’s been one of the worst customer experiences I’ve had, storage-related or otherwise. ... Read more

I’ve been to a few PS. And most of the staff are always so nonchalant but they people at this one were definitely pretty chill guys. Zedrick was the one to help me and he was very helpful with making sure I had all the correct information. Going over it in detail on what to expect from him and the company. Most storage unit employees I’ve come across over the years just glaze over everything to get you in and out but this guy was very helpful. ... Read more

I am very impressed with the positive turnaround this property has had. The new property manager, Berta, has made a huge impact. Her bright, friendly, caring personality shines through even when she stopping other from tailgate without their gate code. I'm so glad to be renting from a place where the manager is as concerned as I am at keeping my things safe. Thank you ... Read more

I’m leveling this against the company not this facility but right after I rented there they changed the access hours from 9pm to 5/6pm. This has been a huge hassle and just trying to move out is now a big problem. I thought perhaps they’d give let me switch locations and give me a break by giving me the first month for $1 offer given the magnitude of this problem, but nope. The guy on the phone wouldn’t even acknowledge what I was saying, and regardless of what I said, just kept droning on about how that was for new customers. Ridiculous customer service. ... Read more

Berta is now running the facility and I can’t express how much she has already improved this locations customer service and the actual facility! I wish every storage place had a stellar employee like her! Thanks Berta for taking the time to take such good care of both my unit and my parents unit! Give the girl a raise! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 680 Sheridan Blvd include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 680 Sheridan Blvd start from $37 and can go up to $260 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
