Otter Self Storage: A Masterclass in Negligence Oh, where do I begin? Renting a unit at Otter Self Storage has been an eye-opening experience—into how utterly useless a storage facility can be. My unit was broken into, my lock was visibly cut with what was likely a power tool, and several valuable items were stolen. You’d think this would prompt swift action, but no. The staff offered little to no help. Ah, but they have security cameras! Or so they claim. When I asked for footage, they outright refused to cooperate with law enforcement. At this point, I have to wonder—are those cameras even real? Maybe they’re props for some false sense of security. The best part? They seem fully aware thefts happen regularly, yet do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. No better lighting, no visible patrols, no enhanced security. It's almost as if they’re running an all-you-can-steal buffet for burglars. And let’s not forget the cherry on top: the insurance they "offer." It’s as reliable as a broken umbrella in a hurricane. Good luck getting them to pay for anything. If you value your sanity—or your stuff—do yourself a favor and avoid Otter Self Storage. Choose a facility that actually values security and accountability, because this place certainly doesn’t. ... Read more

Terrible , horrible, no good, very bad storage facility. Been here less than a month and 5 units have been robbed. Our lease was terminated on day 4 based on hearsay that was untrue, reinstated and then terminated again. The pedestrian gate is chained shut, property dirty and there are access panels in the ceiling if all the upstairs units. . Don't get caught on property after 9 pm, they will call the police, and do not rent your lock from them they know the combinations.. The cheap prices are not worth the headache this place had caused. ... Read more

I put in my 15 days notice and then left town. After 18 days I was told that I had paid for my unit. When I called to ask them why they informed me that I was supposed to provide a picture of the unit empty. I had never been told this before but they did assure me that when I did provide those pictures I would be refunded. And three people after that also assured me that that would be the case. But on the day that I provided the pictures I was told by a supervisor named Mike that I would not be reimbursed my $140. I barely made it back from the trip that I was on to help my 80-year-old mother move . Because last month my dad had died. Nearly everybody that I had talked to had empathy for the situation and was willing to help. That is until Mike came along and declined to make it right. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Otter Self Storage - 4526 Oro Blanco Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Otter Self Storage - 4526 Oro Blanco Drive start from $10 and can go up to $215 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
