This home was "renovated" before we moved in, with all superficial "improvements. The floor warped and degraded, so within a year a new cheap laminate was installed. Within a year that floor was falling apart and the entrance was squishy. We suspected the underlying structure and joists were rotten - FK replaced a 4x4 section of underfloor in the front entrance and put in a SECOND new laminate. In less than a year the floor was warping - there was a literally 4-6" mountain rising up as soon as you entered. We placed a maintenance request in Sept 2025 - telling them the floor was rotting and if they had renovated the house properly before we moved in none of this would be happening. It is now nearly March - over 5 mo later. The floor is still not fixed and because it is cold and less humid, is now sinking and giving way as we walk on it, We also had to wait over 2 months for an HVAC unit to be repaired in a heat wave in NC summer - and the same HVAC has to be repaired every single summer - there is always something wrong with it. The property manager NEVER answers the phone, and the company is so corporate that you cannot ever speak to anyone other than a third-party contractor in another country about any issue. It has the WORST customer service I have ever seen, and NO ON has any authority to make any decision or do anything except say "they understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience." Meanwhile, they raise rates on a house that could never be rented in its current state. I DO NOT RECOMMEND RENTING FROM FIRST KEY EVER.
