618 Allison Street Northwest

Bright and spacious 740-square-foot one-bedroom English basement apartment with a private entrance in a detached home on a quiet residential block in the Georgia Avenue–Petworth neighborhood. The newly installed floors and freshly painted unit features a kitchen with easy-care resilient tile flooring, abundant cabinet storage, refrigerator/freezer, gas range, microwave and garbage disposal- a comfortable living room and bedroom- three large closets- and a tiled bathroom with tub and shower. Selected furnishings are currently available for the tenant’s use if desired. Electricity, water, gas and Verizon Fios tv and internet are included in rent, and access to the home’s washer and dryer can be arranged. On-street parking is readily available, and the Georgia Ave–Petworth Metro Green/Yellow-line station is a 10–12-minute walk. The apartment’s layout is especially well suited to someone seeking a comfortable, private one-bedroom home. The owners occupy the main residence and are an LGBTQ+ household with two friendly dogs, so the resident must be comfortable having dogs nearby. Dog lovers are especially welcome. From time to time, the owners may separately offer the resident optional, paid house- and dog-sitting opportunities when the resident is interested and available. Dog- or house-sitting is entirely voluntary, is not a condition of tenancy, and will be compensated separately or through a mutually agreed written rent credit.
