Tea Kettle Vista I
The Tea Kettle Vista senior/disabled apartment complex was an amazing concept a quarter of a century ago. I knew one of the individuals in the initial development group. He was my employer in the 1980s. I have lived here for nearly 7 years and have been saddened by the lack of attention to property maintenance, apartment upgrades, and responsible management. I have submitted letters of complaint to Senator Jon Tester's staff, the Helena office on aging, etcetera. With the pandemic and economic shifts, there seems to be no effort on the part of the Tea Kettle consortium to deal with the lack of attention to keeping a well-run property. I speak for many in the community here. The development will become no more than a tenement on a highly valuable piece of real estate. Perhaps, that is the corporate intention, so the residents can be run out eventually, and greedy developers can rape and pillage to their hearts' delight. Please take immediate action on getting the proper management team for this housing property for the old and infirm.
great value and needs maintenance
I have lived here for 5 years and watched the property neglect increase. The budget obviously is not providing enough funding for quality maintenance assistance for the manager. The landscaping has gone from bad to worse and this is a very valuable piece of real estate in these times. Tax increment dollars must be hard to come by and the investment in this property intitially was substantial. I do not understand the slovenly appearance that the grounds are showing. The apartments seriously need modernizing and sound-proofing. Central air also, since the summers are hot and very hard on the elderly. There is no wifi in the community room for guests (or residents that may be able to afford their own computers or mobile phones. Otherwise, I feel this is a terrific design concept and I am grateful for all that is here to make life comfortable for low-income seniors, disabled folks, or adults in economic transition.
