As far as the best of the best go, Speedway Junior High School, Center for Inquiry School 84 and Sidener Academy for High Ability Students take center stage with each earning a 10 out of 10 ranking on GreatSchools.

Speedway Junior High School is part of the School Town of Speedway to the west of Indy and focuses on grades 7 and 8. Both Center for Inquiry School 84 and Sidener Academy for High Ability Students cater to middle schoolers, as well as elementary school students. One of the most sought-after schools in the state, CFI 84 is in Meridian-Kessler, while Sidener Academy for High Ability Students is in the middle of the coveted North Indianapolis.

To the southeast and with a 9 out of 10 rating lies Acton Elementary School, one of the most desirable elementary schools for renters with families in the area, very much like Amy Beverland Elementary up in Feather Cove. The next top-rated elementary school in Indianapolis is John Strange Elementary School in Glendale. It enjoys the same respectable rating of 9 as Rosa Parks-Edison Elementary, which is located in Hudson Bay to the south.

Top High Schools in Indianapolis

Ranking 10 out of 10, Herron High School understands the importance of a good high school experience. Located in the Herron-Morton neighborhood, this member of Indianapolis Classical Schools has an Advanced Placement participation rate of almost 90%.

With a rating of 9 is the School Town of Speedway’s only high school — Speedway Senior High. Rounding out the podium of Indy’s best high schools for renters with families is Franklin Central High School with 8 out of 10. It’s also worth mentioning that all three high schools — Franklin Township’s very own alongside Herron High and Speedway Senior High — have all won the College Success Award based on their efforts and success in preparing students for college.
