The apartment is fine, but rent keeps getting jacked up higher and higher and it’s honestly not worth the cost. My rent has gone up over $150 in the time I’ve lived here and the value has not changed. There is only one bathroom on the second floor without even a half-bath on the main floor. There are no washer/dryer hookups in the unit, and the on-site laundry facilities are ridiculously expensive for the tiny amount of laundry you can put into each load.

I find it ridiculous that rent continues to be increased when the apartment doesn’t even have in-unit laundry, or free communal laundry for tenants.

Two years in a row, Garden Park has raised the rent without doing anything for the value of the apartment. They claim the “market value” of the place has increased and therefore they have no choice but to raise rents.

The location is nice, staff and maintenance are great. However, I think there are definitely some improvements that could be made. I don’t like that the only bathroom in the townhouse units is upstairs, and I don’t like that there is not in-unit laundry. There is on-site laundry, but it’s not worth it to use. I find it ridiculous that not only do you have to pay a fee to gain access to the on-site laundry, but you then have to pay to use the washers and pay again to use the dryers. I also think it’s irritating that someone is allowed to park an enormous FedEx truck in the tenant spaces—it’s not a personal vehicle and it’s difficult to park beside and to see around when exiting the parking space.

The people are friendly, neighbors are quiet, and it’s a decent place to live. But rent has gone up from already being more expensive than it should be. If they want to raise rent then they should make it a better place to live, perhaps by getting laundry facilities that can wash more than two days’ worth of clothes at once, or stop charging for use of the washers and dryers after you’ve already paid a fee to even access the laundry room.
