Decent living conditions

Benson downs is a great place to stay short term, but its prevalent that this complex was not built with quality in mind. For example, our shower rack broke easily, our bathroom fan is extremely loud (even after replacing it), the paint chips so easily, etc. Furthermore, the walls are very thin. For about 6 months, we could hear a crying baby next door cry throughout the night. This was frustrating as there’s not much we could do about it as neighbors. Also, parking decals are not reinforced and many cars that are here do not have a decal. This is frustrating for residents who pay for their parking spots, while others park for free. I will say the maintenance staff is very friendly and has a quick turnaround for requests! We have appreciated the new appliances and carpet upon moving in, that was a nice addition. Also, the gym is quite nice and has a good amount of equipment for residents.

Costs too much for what you get but the area is amazing

Positives: I love this area. It is my all time favorite place to live in all my years on this earth. Even though traffic is a nightmare wherever you work, it’s literally in the middle of the big work cities like Bellevue and Seattle. I would love to keep living in this area for the rest of my life. If it was attainable. We make pretty decent money but with everything being expensive, its paycheck to paycheck. I cant afford anything but rent and food, and rent keeps going up each year. Cons: 1. Rent was decent when we first moved in but when they raise rent $200-300 every year, it makes it unaffordable after a few years to stay. Thats the problem with apartments. We’ve been here 4 years and we are almost oaying $1k more than original. Thats madness. 2. Parking is a nightmare even though you get 2 free spaces, everyone seems to have 4+ cars and the parking soaces are tiny. Our car has veen crashed into 3 times in the 4 years weve been living here. Also the mailboxes keep being broken into. 3. The worst is they stopped taking packages at the office. So if you get frequent deliveries, be prepared to find time to pick it up at the post office. Thats always an issue when you work an hour away and the post office closes at 5pm.

Not worth price

The rates being charged are disgusting regardless of what the current market dictates. This should be criminal. On more than one occasion I’ve reported needing maintenance and I’ve waited weeks, once up to a month before having the problem resolved. I reported the drywall that rotted away and came loose under the stairs at least two years ago and it’s still sitting there.
