Walnut Square Apartments

I have been a tenant for a decade. The staff is courteous, but not always as responsive as desired. The holiday decorations are superb, but they lack sensensitivity to marginalized ethnicities. There also seems to be a recurring plumbing problem. I hope it can be fixed sooner than later.

I've heard that the -02 apartments in this building are notoriously noisy, and I wish I had known before moving here. Every night I feel the bass pumping from Woody's downstairs and struggle to sleep between that, cars driving with music turned up, loud people on the street, and the other noise of the city. The quality of the apartment was fine, with an exception of the floorboards being atrocious (so I covered them with carpets/rugs) and the sinks, closets, and cabinets being pretty old and janky. Normal use feels like it's worn on them. when I first moved in my cabinets fell off their tiny nails holding them in place - it was fixed within a day but since then I've been worried they'll have more problems. It felt like when I moved in, they had literally just painted a single coat on everything and cleaned nothing else. I like the staff quite a bit, from the desk peeps to the office folks to the janitors/maintenance crew... but this place is too much and too little for me. The studio should have some kind of soundproofing and a serious renovation - otherwise, I feel mislead.

I have lived here just over a year, and it's been fine! I really like my studio, I just wish the building was a little nicer.

We moved here in early 2024 and have found it to be a good experience. It's only noisy outside but not noisy inside. Most of the neighbors are cool. If you like Center City or work in the City. Give this place a tour and see what they offer. For the amount of rent, the location and the apartment, it's a good deal. It's simply this. Price meets quality here. I highly recommend this apartment building.
