Best location and value

Great location and excellent units for the price. There’s no parking, so expect to work to find street parking or pay for a lot.

Review

It’s nice I’m still staying to get used to renting here but the amenities and area is easy to navigate which helps a lot. I think it’s great for a first apartment place since it had lots of tools and amenities to simplify and teach a first time renter.

awesome building with a few need-for-improvements

Pros: I do generally love living here. The building is beautiful and well taken care of by maintenance. Any time I've had issues, they've come right away. The gym and public spaces are lovely and I genuinely wish I took more advantage of them. The location and price (for a girl coming from Brooklyn) are amazing! Because this is an old warehouse building, the walls are so thick and outside of the occasional rumble of the train nearby, it is super quiet considering. I'm a low-maintenance person, so it's easy for me to focus on the fact that there are plenty more pros than cons. Cons: That all being said, I think there are a few things that could be worked on. I lived in a doorperson managed building previously to this, and the closeness I developed with the door personnel was honestly one of the only reasons I was so reluctant to leave that building. Truly, their energy and demeanor of helpfulness was so appreciated and mutual respect was obviously there. Unfortunately I cannot say this for Chocolate Works. Barring one/two of the staff who greet me back willingly and with a smile, the majority mumble or don't even look up at me or other residents. When asked realllllly sweetly to get a package, it feels as though I'm interrupting something very important. They are often on personal calls or watching television while they are working (which seriously I don't mind that much because the job must get so boring, but at the same time it could be offset with a much better attitude). I really don't take things personally, so it doesn't fundamentally bother me -- moreso from a perspective of expectation when living in a "luxury" building. I also think that there needs to be some kind of text/virtual system that notifies residents of packages (many times I don't get all of mine because they are not in the right places) or of food being delivered. There should be a pre-written message sent to a resident if food, package, or visitor comes, especially if safety is a priority.

Solid overall, no major complaints

Solid place to live. Good location, lots of space at a reasonable price. Amazing staff - the front desk folks are the best. If you dont like road noise, this is not the place for you since it is right next to the bridge. It also depends on which unit you get. Parking in old city is a joke. Amenities are non-existent, but not necessary. They have a nice lounge if youre into that sort of thing.
