2607 Emerald Street

Lived in this building for nearly two years now and while the apartment itself is very spacious and meets all of our needs, it's clear that the property was built very hastily, and the upkeep is poor. The foundation settled poorly which has resulted in cracks at the seams of the walls and ceiling. We were informed by verizon that the internet cables installed by the management were done incorrectly, affecting our internet speed. Our roof deck was incorrectly pitched so gallons of water would pool on the roof every time it rained and it took management a year to correct it. In the two years that I've lived here, management has sent a cleaner once to clean the common stairwells and hallways, and once to clean the exterior of the windows. Like I said, the apartment at face value is amazing, but we've had to put in a lot of work on our own to make sure that it stays that way.

I've lived in the emerald lofts for over 6 months now, and while I love the size and location of the apartment, it's very clear that these buildings were made very hastily, and not for the long term. There are cracks in the drywall at every corner of every room, the pitch of the roof deck was very poorly constructed, and every time it rains giant puddles of water and dirt pool on the roof deck making it look filthy constantly. There are other issues like a piece of wood that is just completely missing from our staircase, uneven stairs, stairs that were never properly stained so each one is a different color, and tiles and grout in the bathroom that have been stained since before we moved in. I will not be surprised if these units require a complete re-renovation in 5 years, or if someone's foot breaks through these thin floors before that time and sues Streamline out of house and home.
