Maintenance does not do a good job keeping track of tenant needs. We've had issues spanning months (nothing that makes our apt unliveable), that still are not corrected. That being said, the building gets frequently cleaned, the trash taken out on time, and generally we are very content.

I have lived here for a little over a year and you cannot beat the neighborhood. Great restaurants and parks in the area, very family friendly and beautiful area. From an cost standpoint, the price is about the same for similar buildings in the same location.

Haven't lived here too long, but the neighborhood is really nice and the folks that live in the building are friendly too. I do appreciate that it's got a pretty fulsome set of amenities (dishwasher, in-unit washer/dryer, in-building laundry room, etc.) and we have much more space than our old place.

Barely any heat in the winter.

I have lived in this apartment for 8 years with no issues. Since Akelius has taken over there have been significant problems mainly with the heat. This winter we did not have adequate heat with many days below 60 degrees in our apartment during the day. We were freezing at night and could not sleep. Management gave us space heaters and told us that they would deduct the $200 in electric bills from our rent but when it came time recanted their offer. The turn over in management is almost monthly and they do not take any responsibly. In just the past few days, we received notification from the city that Akelius has applied to raise the rent for every unit in our building due to the "improvements" they made to our boiler. Suffice it to say, we and our neighbors--many if not most of whom suffered through the same issues all winter--are incredulous. To state plainly, Akelius has consistently and unfortunately placed cost-cutting and profiteering ahead of the health and safety of its tenants. Shameful.
